What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They can remember a preference, keep a login session open, or help a site measure traffic. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage.
What we use
At present we use only cookies that are necessary for the site to function. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, heatmaps or social-media trackers on this site.
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your language choice (English or Traditional Chinese). Essential preference; expires after one year.
- Admin session — a signed, HTTP-only cookie that keeps an authorised editor signed in to the content management area. Essential; expires when the session ends or after the configured period.
- Server logs — not a cookie. Our host records IP address, browser and requested page for security and abuse prevention, retained for up to 12 months.
What we do not use
No advertising or remarketing cookies, no cross-site tracking, no social plug-ins that load before you click them, and no analytics product that profiles individual visitors. If we add analytics in future, this page will list the provider, the cookie names and the retention period before it goes live.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the language cookie means the site may default to English; blocking the admin session cookie means you cannot sign in to the CMS.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
Third parties
Our hosting and email providers may process technical data on our behalf under contract. We do not allow them to use it for their own advertising. Links to external sites are governed by those sites' own cookie policies.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our cookie use changes. Questions: liuchunchen369@gmail.com.
