In-house R&D and formulation

Our formulation team includes 12 food scientists and pharmacists. They work from your target ingredient list, dosage, and claims. We test stability at 40°C/75% RH for 3 months to confirm shelf life. Flavour masking for bitter actives, such as berberine or green tea extract, is handled in-house. You receive a formula sheet with excipients, overage percentages, and a bill of materials before any sample is made.

We also reverse-engineer benchmark products. Send us a competitor sample and we match taste, texture, and dissolution profile within 2-3 iterations. For capsules, we adjust mesh size and lubricant levels to hit your target disintegration time. For gummies, we tune pectin or gelatin ratios for the chew you want. All formulation work stays confidential under NDA.

Ingredient sourcing and dosage forms

We source actives from approved suppliers in Europe, the US, Japan, and China. Each incoming lot is tested for identity, potency, heavy metals, and microbials. For botanical extracts, we require a certificate of analysis with marker compounds. If you need organic or non-GMO ingredients, we buy from certified supply chains and keep traceability records for 5 years.

Dosage form affects cost and lead time. Capsules and tablets are the fastest to scale, with tooling available for 0, 00, and 000 sizes. Softgels suit oil-based actives like CoQ10 or fish oil. Gummies need 15-20 working days for pilot tooling. Powders and liquids are filled on separate lines. We advise on the best form for your dose and target consumer.

Quality control and logistics

Every batch is tested for weight variation, hardness, disintegration, and microbial limits before release. We retain samples for 2 years. Our facility is FDA-registered and audited annually for GMP and ISO 22000. HACCP plans cover every production step. For halal claims, we maintain separate production slots and certified ingredient lists.

We ship FOB Shenzhen or Yantian. Air freight samples take 3-5 days to the US or EU. Sea freight for full orders takes 18-25 days to Los Angeles and 28-35 days to Rotterdam. We provide commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and health certificates. DDP terms are available for first orders to simplify customs.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every ODM batch is sampled at three points: incoming raw materials, in-process blend or liquid, and finished goods. Identity testing uses FTIR or HPLC against a reference standard. Potency assays confirm the active marker compound is within 95-105% of label claim. Microbial testing covers total aerobic count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus. Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) are screened by ICP-MS. Disintegration testing follows USP <701> for tablets and capsules, with a 30-minute limit for immediate-release forms.

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is issued per batch and includes the product name, lot number, manufacture and expiry dates, test parameters, specification limits, results, and the analyst's signature. Retained samples of each batch are stored for 24 months at controlled room temperature, or for the product's shelf life plus six months, whichever is longer. Stability protocols follow ICH Q1A(R2) conditions: 25°C/60% RH for long-term and 40°C/75% RH for accelerated testing over three and six months respectively. We share interim data at sample approval and final data before mass production release.

Batch records are retained for five years and are available for client audit. Deviations are logged with root cause, corrective action, and impact assessment. If a batch fails potency or microbial limits, it is quarantined and not released. We do not rework failed batches without written client approval. Documentation for each shipment includes the COA, batch record summary, and a declaration of conformity to the agreed specification.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Packaging options include HDPE bottles (60, 90, 120, 180 and 240 cc) with induction seals, blister packs on PVC/PVDC or alu-alu, stick packs of 5-10 g, and sachets of 3-15 g. Bottles can be supplied with desiccant or oxygen absorbers. We hold stock tooling for standard bottle sizes; custom moulds take 25-30 working days. Labels are printed on-site or by approved vendors. Lot and expiry coding is applied by inkjet or laser at filling, with a verified legibility check every 30 minutes.

For US-market dietary supplements, labels must carry the statement of identity, net quantity, ingredient list, supplement facts panel, and the address of the manufacturer or distributor. We also include allergen declarations, country of origin, and the 'Keep out of reach of children' caution where required. For EU and UK markets, we follow the relevant nutrition and health claims regulations and can pre-screen claims against approved registers. Amazon FNSKU labels, poly-bagging, and carton markings for retail or e-commerce fulfilment are available on request.

Cartons are specified to client requirements: typical dimensions are 40 x 30 x 25 cm with a 15 kg gross weight limit for manual handling. Pallet configuration is 1,200 x 800 mm or 1,200 x 1,000 mm, stretch-wrapped and corner-boarded. We provide a packaging specification sheet with dielines, material grades, and barcode placement. Retail compliance checks cover GS1 barcode verification, nutrition panel rounding rules, and warning statements. We do not print unsubstantiated structure-function claims; all copy is reviewed against the agreed regulatory brief before plate-making.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sampling starts with a formulation brief and a 7-10 working day turnaround for a first prototype. One round of revision is included; further rounds add 5 working days each. Sample costs are credited against the first mass-production order. MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU at a higher unit cost. Mass production takes 20-35 working days after written sample approval and receipt of deposit. Lead times are quoted per project and confirmed in the proforma invoice.

Shipping is by air or sea. Air freight to Europe or North America takes 5-8 days door-to-door; sea freight takes 25-35 days port-to-port, plus customs clearance. We work on EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP terms. For DDP, we handle customs clearance and import duties where the destination allows; the client remains the importer of record for regulatory purposes. We recommend air freight for first orders under 500 kg and sea freight for repeat orders above 1,000 kg.

Documents provided with each shipment include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, Certificate of Analysis, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) where applicable, and a free-sale certificate. For plant-based ingredients, a phytosanitary certificate can be arranged on request. Certificates of origin are available for preferential tariff treatment. We do not provide guarantees of import clearance; clients should confirm local registration requirements before ordering.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the difference between ODM and OEM?+

ODM means we develop the formula and you brand it. OEM means you bring a finished formula and we only manufacture. ODM suits founders without a formulation team. We handle R&D, ingredient sourcing, and regulatory checks. You approve samples and own the brand.

What is your minimum order quantity for ODM?+

MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling. Pilot runs start at 1,000 units for capsules or tablets. Gummies and liquids have higher pilot MOQs due to tooling. We confirm exact MOQ after reviewing your formula and packaging.

How long does sampling take?+

Sample lead time is 7-10 working days after we receive your brief and deposit. This includes 2-3 iterations. If you need benchmark matching, add 3-5 days for analysis. Shipping samples by air takes 3-5 days to the US or EU.

Can you handle organic, halal, claims?+

Yes. We are certified for halal, and organic (USDA or EU) on selected lines. We maintain separate production slots and source certified ingredients. You receive certificates for each claim. Vegan and non-GMO options are also available.

What are your payment and shipping terms?+

Payment is 50% deposit, 50% before shipment. We ship FOB Shenzhen or Yantian. DDP is available for first orders. Sea freight to the US takes 18-25 days; to Rotterdam, 28-35 days. Air freight is 3-5 days for urgent batches.

Can you provide a free-sale certificate and other export documents?+

Yes. We issue a free-sale certificate confirming the product is manufactured under GMP and is freely sold in China. Alongside it, each shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, Certificate of Analysis, and MSDS where relevant. Certificates of origin and phytosanitary certificates for plant-based ingredients are available on request. Allow 3-5 working days for document preparation before dispatch.

How do you handle label claims and regulatory review for different markets?+

We review all label copy against the regulatory brief for your target market before printing. For the US, we check supplement facts formatting and structure-function disclaimer wording. For the EU and UK, we screen claims against approved health claims registers. We do not print claims that lack substantiation. You remain responsible for final regulatory approval in your market, but we provide a compliance checklist and flag any statements that need revision.

What happens if a batch fails quality testing?+

A failed batch is quarantined immediately and not released. We investigate the root cause, document the deviation, and inform you in writing within 48 hours. If the failure is due to our process, we re-manufacture at our cost. If it relates to an agreed specification that proves unachievable, we discuss reformulation or a revised specification. We do not rework failed batches without your written approval, and we never ship a batch that falls outside the agreed limits.
