Packaging Formats and Line Capacity

EUPHM operates high-speed bottling lines for capsules and tablets, with fill weights from 300 mg to 1,500 mg and bottle sizes from 30 cc to 500 cc. Powder lines handle 5–30 g sachets and stick packs, plus 200–500 g canisters. We run 8 production lines with a combined capacity of 2.5 million units per day. Changeover between SKUs takes 4–6 hours, so mixed orders ship together.

Secondary packaging covers induction sealing, pressure-sensitive labelling, shrink banding and retail cartoning. We stock standard HDPE and PET bottles, plus child-resistant closures for US and EU markets. Custom bottle moulds add 25–35 days to the timeline. For brands launching multiple SKUs, we schedule shared production windows to reduce minimum quantities per format.

Formulation and Ingredient Compatibility

Packaging decisions depend on the formula. Hygroscopic ingredients like creatine and certain plant extracts need desiccant canisters or foil-lined bottles. Oils and softgels require opaque HDPE or amber glass to protect against light. Effervescent tablets need moisture-barrier tubes with tight seals. EUPHM reviews your formula before quoting, so the packaging matches the stability profile.

We source excipients and actives from approved suppliers with full traceability. For vegan claims, we segregate ingredients and clean lines between runs. Flavour systems for powders include natural and artificial options, with 3–5 gram serving sizes common for stick packs. If you need a premix blended to your specification, our team can handle 50–500 kg batch sizes.

Quality, Compliance and Export Logistics

Every batch is tested for identity, potency, microbials and heavy metals before release. We provide a certificate of analysis and retain samples for 2 years. The facility is FDA-registered and follows GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP. For halal claims, we maintain separate production slots and documentation. and vegan certification is available on request.

Export documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and health certificate. We ship FOB Shenzhen or Yantian, with air freight for samples and urgent orders. Typical sea freight to Los Angeles is 18–22 days; to Rotterdam, 28–32 days. EUPHM handles labelling compliance for US, EU and Middle East markets, including allergen statements and nutrition panels.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every batch of finished supplement packaging is tested against a written specification before release. Incoming raw materials are checked for identity by FTIR or HPLC, and potency is confirmed against the certificate of analysis from the ingredient supplier. During production, in-process checks cover fill weight at 30-minute intervals, with a target of ±3% for capsules and tablets. Finished goods are tested for microbials (total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella), heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) and disintegration time, typically within 15 minutes for tablets and 10 minutes for capsules.

Batch documentation is compiled in a batch record that includes the bill of materials, dispensing records, in-process check sheets, equipment cleaning logs and the final certificate of analysis. The COA lists the product name, lot number, specification, test method, result and pass/fail status for each parameter. A retention sample of at least twice the finished unit count is kept for the shelf life plus 12 months. Stability testing follows a protocol of 25°C/60% RH and 40°C/75% RH, with time points at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months for products with a two-year claim.

Microbial testing is performed on every batch of powder and gummy products, and on capsules and tablets where the formulation includes botanicals or other susceptible ingredients. Heavy metal testing is performed per lot of raw material and on the finished product at a frequency of at least once per quarter per SKU. Disintegration testing is done on each production run to confirm the dosage form meets the pharmacopoeial standard for the target market, whether USP, Ph. Eur. or the applicable Chinese standard.

Documentation is available in English as standard, with bilingual English/Chinese versions on request. For markets requiring a certificate of free sale or a health certificate, these are issued after the batch record review is complete. All records are retained for a minimum of five years, which covers the shelf life plus a margin for any post-market query. If your quality team needs a specific test method or an additional parameter, this can be added to the specification before the first production run.

Packaging Formats, Labelling and Retail Readiness for Supplement Brands

The supplement packaging line handles high-density polyethylene bottles from 60 mL to 500 mL, with induction seals and child-resistant caps where required. Blister packs are available in PVC/PVDC and alu-alu formats for tablets and capsules, with a typical cavity count of 10 to 30 per card. Stick packs and sachets are filled on vertical form-fill-seal machines, with fill weights from 5 g to 30 g for powders and 10 mL to 30 mL for liquids. Gummies are packed in bottles or pouches, with a desiccant option for humid markets.

For the US market, labels are prepared to include the statement of identity, net quantity of contents, supplement facts panel, list of ingredients, allergen declaration and the manufacturer or distributor address. Lot codes and expiry dates are applied by inkjet or laser coding, with a minimum character height of 2 mm and a format that matches your market requirement, such as LOT 12345 and EXP 2026-08. Cartons are specified with a minimum edge crush test of 32 lb/in and pallet configurations are designed to maximise container fill, typically 48 x 40 inch pallets with a maximum height of 60 inches for sea freight.

For Amazon and other e-commerce channels, we can apply FNSKU labels and polybag the units according to the marketplace's packaging requirements. Retail-ready packaging, including shelf-ready trays and display cartons, is available for club stores and pharmacy chains. Artwork proofing is done through a digital workflow with a physical proof dispatched before mass printing. We do not provide graphic design services, but we can work with your design files and check them against the technical constraints of the chosen packaging format.

Printing options include digital and flexographic printing for labels and cartons, with a colour tolerance of ±2 Delta E. For blister packs, the foil is printed with your brand and lot information. If your product requires a tamper-evident seal, this is applied as a shrink band or a sealed carton. All packaging materials are checked against the EU and US requirements for food-contact substances, and declarations of compliance are available for each component.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sampling starts with a brief that confirms the dosage form, fill weight, packaging format and target market. Stock samples are dispatched within 7 to 10 working days. Custom samples with your label and packaging take 15 to 20 working days, including the time for label printing and any tooling for stick packs or blisters. Sample costs are credited against the first production order for orders above 10,000 units. The sample approval stage is the point where specifications are locked, so any changes after this stage will affect the production timeline.

Mass production runs 20 to 35 working days after sample approval and receipt of the deposit. This window includes raw material procurement, production, quality testing and packing. For repeat orders with existing specifications, the production window can be reduced to 15 to 25 working days. If your launch date is fixed, we recommend confirming the order at least 12 weeks before the required delivery date to allow for sea freight and customs clearance.

Shipping terms are available as EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP for selected destinations. Air freight takes 5 to 8 days door to door and is suitable for pilot runs or urgent replenishment. Sea freight takes 25 to 35 days to the US West Coast and 30 to 40 days to Europe, depending on the port. For DDP shipments, we handle export clearance, import clearance and final delivery, with duties and taxes included in the quoted price.

The document pack provided with each shipment includes the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis, material safety data sheet where applicable, certificate of free sale and, for plant-based ingredients, a phytosanitary certificate. Certificates of origin can be issued for preferential tariff treatment under applicable trade agreements. All documents are checked against the destination country's import requirements before the shipment leaves the factory.
