Creatine Gummy Manufacturer for Sports Nutrition Brands

Overview

Creatine monohydrate is one of the most researched sports nutrition ingredients. Turning it into a stable, great-tasting gummy is a formulation and process challenge. EUPHM has manufactured pectin and gelatin gummies for supplement brands since 2012. We handle creatine loads from 1g to 5g per gummy, with flavour systems that mask the chalky aftertaste. Our Guangdong plant runs 12 gummy lines with a daily capacity of 4.5 million units. This page covers specs, options and the production process.

Gummy Manufacturing Capability

Our Guangdong facility operates 12 gummy production lines. Each line can run 350,000–500,000 units per day depending on gummy weight and mould size. For creatine gummies, we use a starch mogul or depositing system with controlled cooling tunnels. This prevents creatine from settling unevenly or degrading during the cook. We produce in 2.5g, 3.5g, 4g and 5.5g moulds. Custom shapes and embossing are available for orders above 10,000 units.

Every batch runs on a validated recipe. We hold 5–8% overage on creatine to account for process loss and to meet label claim at end of shelf life. In-process checks occur every 30 minutes: weight, texture, pH and water activity. The plant is FDA-registered and operates under GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP. Annual capacity exceeds 1.2 billion gummies. Lead times are quoted from sample approval, not from PO date.

Formulating Creatine into a Gummy

Creatine monohydrate is heat-sensitive and has a bitter, chalky taste. We use a low-temperature depositing process that keeps the mix below 80°C for under 4 minutes. This reduces degradation to under 5% in most trials. For taste, we blend natural and artificial flavours with a masking system based on citrus, berry or tropical profiles. Sucralose, stevia or allulose can sweeten the base. Each 4g gummy typically delivers 3g of creatine monohydrate.

Texture matters. A pectin base gives a softer, vegan chew. Gelatin gives a firmer, springier bite. We can also add 500mg–1,000mg of electrolytes, beta-alanine or taurine per gummy. Colours come from fruit and vegetable concentrates or approved synthetic dyes. We do not use titanium dioxide. Shelf life is 18–24 months in a sealed HDPE bottle with a desiccant. Stability testing is available at 25°C/60% RH and 40°C/75% RH.

Quality, Compliance and Shipping

Every creatine gummy batch is tested for potency, microbial safety, heavy metals and water activity. We release certificates of analysis (CoA) with each shipment. Third-party lab testing is available on request. Our certifications include GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal and (for applicable lines). We are FDA-registered. Documentation for EU and UK import includes health certificates, free sale certificates and allergen statements.

Shipping is FOB Shenzhen or Yantian. We pack in 60cc, 120cc, 150cc or 300cc HDPE bottles with induction seals. Cartons are 12–24 bottles. Air freight samples ship in 3–5 days. Sea freight to Los Angeles takes 18–22 days; to Rotterdam 28–32 days. MOQ for custom bottles is 5,000 units. We can also use your existing bottle and label design. Payment terms are 30% deposit, 70% before shipment.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every creatine gummy batch is tested at three points: incoming raw material, in-process, and finished goods. Creatine monohydrate is verified for identity by FTIR and assay by HPLC, with a specification of 99.0–101.0% on a dried basis. Microbials (total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella) are tested per batch against USP <2021> limits. Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) are screened by ICP-MS to EU and US pharmacopoeia thresholds. Disintegration is checked on a six-station tester; pectin gummies typically disintegrate within 30–45 minutes in 37°C water, gelatin within 10–20 minutes.

In-process checks run every 30 minutes on the depositing line: weight variation (target ±5%), colour, texture and pH of the gummy mass. The pH of a creatine gummy mass is kept between 3.2 and 3.8 for pectin systems to ensure proper set and shelf stability. Any deviation triggers a hold and re-test before the batch proceeds to curing. Curing rooms are held at 20–25°C and 30–40% relative humidity for 24–48 hours depending on base type.

A certificate of analysis (COA) is issued for each batch and includes: product name, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, creatine assay, microbial results, heavy metals, disintegration time, moisture content, and a statement of conformity to the agreed specification. COAs are available in PDF within 48 hours of batch release. Retention samples of every batch are kept for the full shelf life plus six months, stored under controlled conditions at 25°C/60% RH and 30°C/65% RH.

Stability testing follows a standard protocol: 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months at 25°C/60% RH, with accelerated conditions at 40°C/75% RH for 0, 1, 2, 3 and 6 months. Creatine potency, moisture, texture and microbial counts are monitored at each pull point. Real-time data from previous creatine gummy projects shows less than 5% potency loss over 18 months in pectin-based gummies when moisture is kept below 8%. We provide stability reports to support your shelf-life claim, typically 18–24 months.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Creatine gummies are packed in HDPE bottles (60, 90, 120 or 150 count), blister packs (10 or 12 per card), stick packs (single-serve 5–10g), or sachets (10–30g). Bottles are induction-sealed with a foil liner and fitted with a child-resistant or standard screw cap. Desiccant is added where the target market requires it; for pectin gummies we recommend a 1g silica gel sachet per 60-count bottle to manage moisture during transit. Labels can be supplied by you or printed by us using your artwork, with a minimum label run of 5,000 pieces per SKU for cost efficiency.

For the US market, we support FDA dietary-supplement label elements: statement of identity, net quantity, supplement facts panel with creatine amount per serving, other ingredients list, directions, and the mandatory disclaimer. Lot number and expiry date are inkjet-coded on the bottle base or label edge in a 2mm font, with a minimum 12-month remaining shelf life at shipment. We also handle Amazon FNSKU labelling, poly-bagging and carton marking to your specification. For EU retail, we can apply the appropriate nutrition declaration and allergen statements based on your formulation.

Cartons are standard 5-ply corrugated, with dimensions matched to your bottle count: a typical 60-count bottle carton holds 24 bottles, measuring 400 x 300 x 250mm and weighing 12–14kg. Pallets are 1200 x 1000mm or 1200 x 800mm, stretch-wrapped and corner-boarded, with 20–24 cartons per layer and 4–5 layers high, giving 80–120 cartons per pallet. We can print your logo and handling symbols on cartons. For Amazon FBA, cartons are labelled with FNSKU and suffocation warnings as required.

Retail-ready services include barcode verification (GS1), country-of-origin marking, and compliance checks against your target market's labelling rules. We do not provide regulatory advice, but we will review your artwork for obvious omissions such as missing allergen declarations or incorrect supplement facts formatting. Turnaround for label review is 2–3 working days. If you need blister packs for pharmacy channels, tooling lead time is 15–20 working days and the MOQ is 10,000 blisters.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sample lead time for a custom creatine gummy is 7–10 working days after receipt of your flavour and specification brief. This includes a 500g pilot batch, basic analytical testing and a courier delivery via DHL or FedEx. Sample cost is typically USD 150–250 including freight, which is credited against your first mass-production order. For existing formulations, samples can be dispatched in 3–5 working days. We recommend requesting two flavour variants to compare masking performance before committing to a full batch.

Mass production runs 20–35 working days after sample approval and receipt of deposit. This window covers raw material procurement (7–10 days for creatine monohydrate), production scheduling, curing (2–3 days), packing and QC release. Peak season (August to November) may add 5–7 working days, so plan orders accordingly. MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling, with 1,000 units available for pilot runs at a higher per-unit cost. Repeat orders of the same SKU typically ship in 18–25 working days.

We ship under EXW, FOB Shenzhen/Yantian, or DDP to your door. Air freight takes 5–8 days to the US or EU and is suitable for samples and urgent orders up to 500kg. Sea freight takes 25–35 days to the US West Coast or 30–40 days to Northern Europe, with LCL options for orders under 15CBM. For DDP, we handle customs clearance and duties, with delivery to your warehouse or Amazon FBA centre. We provide a packing list, commercial invoice and bill of lading for every shipment.

Documentation provided with each order includes COA, MSDS, free-sale certificate, and phytosanitary certificate where applicable (for gelatin-free, plant-based gummies). Certificates of origin can be issued on request. We do not provide halal certificates unless the batch is produced under a certified programme, which requires advance notice and a minimum order of 20,000 units. All documents are issued in English and can be legalised by chamber of commerce if your market requires it.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the MOQ for creatine gummies?+

MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling. For pilot runs or market testing, we can go as low as 1,000 units. Custom bottle and label orders start at 5,000 units.

How much creatine can you put in one gummy?+

We formulate from 1g to 5g of creatine monohydrate per gummy. Most brands choose 3g or 5g. Above 5g, the gummy becomes too large to chew comfortably. Creatine HCl is limited to 1g–2g due to acidity.

What is the lead time for samples and mass production?+

Samples ship in 7–10 working days. Mass production takes 20–35 working days after sample approval and deposit. Peak season (September–November) may add 5–7 days. We confirm dates in writing.

Are your creatine gummies vegan and halal?+

Yes. We offer a pectin base that is certified vegan. Halal certificates are available for gelatin and pectin lines. Certificates are issued per batch and can be shared before ordering.

Do you provide stability and shelf-life testing?+

Yes. We run accelerated stability at 40°C/75% RH for 6 months and real-time at 25°C/60% RH. Creatine gummies typically hold 18–24 months in sealed HDPE bottles. Reports are included with the CoA.

What is the shelf life of your creatine gummies and how is it determined?+

Shelf life is set at 18–24 months based on real-time stability data at 25°C/60% RH. We test potency, moisture, texture and microbial counts at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months. Accelerated testing at 40°C/75% RH supports the initial claim. Final shelf life depends on your packaging and storage conditions; we provide a stability report with each project so you can substantiate the expiry date on your label.

Can you produce creatine gummies with no added sugar or sugar alcohols?+

Yes. We can formulate with soluble corn fibre, allulose or maltitol, depending on your target market and label claims. Sugar-free pectin gummies require careful control of water activity to maintain texture and prevent crystallisation. We recommend a pilot batch to confirm taste and stability, as sugar replacers can affect setting time and moisture migration. Typical sugar-free loads are 1–3g creatine per gummy, with a 2.5–4g piece weight.

What is your policy on proprietary formulations and exclusivity?+

Your formulation remains your intellectual property. We do not reuse your specific flavour system, creatine blend or process parameters for other clients. Exclusivity can be granted for a defined period (typically 12–24 months) and market, subject to a minimum annual volume commitment. We sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before sharing detailed formulations or process data. Tooling and artwork remain your property.
