Sugar-Free Oral Film Manufacturer for Keto and Diabetic Brands

Sugar-Free Oral Film Manufacturer for Keto and Diabetic Brands

EUPHM produces sugar-free oral films at 1,000-unit MOQ. We use erythritol, stevia and monk fruit. No sucrose, no maltodextrin. Samples ship in 7-10 working days from our GMP-certified plant in Guangdong.

Overview

Sugar-free oral films need more than removing sugar. You must replace bulk, mask bitterness and keep the film flexible. EUPHM has run sugar-free oral film lines since 2016. We hold GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal certificates. Our standard MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU. Pilot runs start at 1,000 units. Mass production takes 20-35 working days.

Sugar-Free Film Production Capability

Our Guangdong plant runs two dedicated oral film lines. Each line produces 120,000 films per 8-hour shift. We use a solvent-casting process with inline viscosity control. This keeps film thickness within ±5 microns. For sugar-free formulas, we adjust the polymer blend to compensate for the missing sugar bulk. Typical film weight is 40-80 mg. We can produce up to 2.4 million units per month across both lines.

We handle small pilot runs on the same equipment as mass production. That means your 1,000-unit pilot uses the exact process, drying temperature and packaging line as your 50,000-unit order. No scale-up surprises. Changeover between sugar-free SKUs takes 4 hours, including full cleaning. We schedule sugar-free runs separately from sugar-containing runs to avoid cross-contact.

Formulating Without Sugar: Sweeteners and Bulk

Sugar does three things in an oral film: sweetens, adds bulk and improves mouthfeel. Removing it means replacing all three. We use erythritol for bulk and cooling, stevia or monk fruit for sweetness, and a small amount of soluble fibre for body. Common actives include caffeine (50-200 mg), melatonin (1-10 mg), vitamin B12 (500-1000 mcg) and electrolytes. We avoid maltodextrin, dextrose and sucrose entirely.

Flavour masking is critical. Sugar-free films can taste bitter or metallic. We test three to five flavour systems per active. Options include mint, berry, citrus and tropical. We can also add a cooling agent like WS-23 at 0.05-0.2%. Every formula is tested for pH, tensile strength and disintegration time. Target disintegration is 30-60 seconds in the mouth. We provide a full ingredient breakdown with allergen and keto-friendly status.

Quality, Compliance and Logistics

Sugar-free is a regulated claim. In the EU, a product must contain less than 0.5 g of sugars per 100 g. In the US, FDA requires less than 0.5 g per serving. We test every batch using HPLC to confirm sugar content. Certificates of analysis include sugar profile, microbial limits and heavy metals. Our facility is FDA-registered and holds GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP. Halal certificates are available on request.

We ship from Shenzhen and Hong Kong ports. Air freight to Los Angeles takes 3-5 days. Sea freight to Rotterdam takes 28-35 days. We provide full export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and health certificate. For Middle East orders, we include halal certification and Arabic labelling if needed. MOQ for custom packaging is 1,000 units. We can also ship in bulk rolls for local cutting.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every sugar-free oral film batch is tested against a written specification before release. Raw materials are checked for identity and potency on receipt, then held in quarantine. During production, we monitor film weight, thickness and moisture at 30-minute intervals. Finished films undergo microbial testing (total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella), heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury) and disintegration testing. Potency is verified for active ingredients where present. All testing follows in-house SOPs aligned with GMP and ISO 22000 requirements.

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) accompanies each batch. It lists the product name, lot number, manufacturing date, expiry date, tests performed, specification limits, results and pass/fail status. Microbial and heavy-metal results are included where applicable. The COA is signed by the quality manager. We retain samples from every batch for a minimum of two years after expiry. Retention samples are stored under controlled temperature and humidity. Stability studies follow a standard protocol: 0, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months at 25°C/60% RH and 40°C/75% RH. Accelerated data can support a 24-month shelf life claim.

Batch records include raw material lot traceability, in-process checks, operator signatures and equipment logs. If a deviation occurs, we open a non-conformance report and investigate root cause before release. We do not release a batch without a completed COA and quality sign-off. For buyers requiring additional testing, such as specific allergen screening or custom marker assays, we can arrange third-party laboratory analysis at cost. Turnaround for external results is typically 10-15 working days.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Sugar-free oral films can be packed in several formats to suit different retail channels. Common options include single-dose sachets, multi-film blisters, stick packs and small bottles. We can supply films in individual foil sachets with a tear notch, or in blister cards with a paperboard backing. For sample or travel-size packs, stick packs are popular. Bottle options include HDPE or PET containers with child-resistant closures where required. We do not supply primary packaging materials unless specified; however, we can source and print packaging through qualified suppliers.

For the US market, we prepare FDA dietary-supplement labels that include a supplement facts panel, ingredient list, allergen statement, net quantity, and the manufacturer or distributor name and address. Lot codes and expiry dates are printed on each primary unit using inkjet or thermal transfer. We can apply Amazon FNSKU labels and retail-ready carton markings on request. Cartons are typically 5-ply corrugated with a maximum weight of 15 kg. Pallet specifications: standard 1200 x 1000 mm or 1200 x 800 mm, stretch-wrapped and corner-boarded. We provide carton dimensions and pallet quantities before production.

Regulatory review of artwork is part of our service. We check that claims such as 'sugar-free' and 'keto-friendly' are consistent with the formulation and target market rules. For the EU, we verify that the nutrition declaration and sweetener names comply with Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011. We do not provide legal advice, but we flag potential issues before printing. Buyers receive a PDF proof for approval. Once approved, we retain a signed copy in the batch file. Packaging lead time is typically 10-15 working days after artwork approval, depending on material availability.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sample orders for sugar-free oral films are available from 1,000 units per SKU. Sample lead time is 7-10 working days after receipt of a signed sample request and specification sheet. Samples are sent by courier, with freight collect or prepaid depending on the agreement. The sample fee is refundable against a subsequent mass production order. For new formulations, we may need an additional 5-7 working days for development and stability screening before sampling.

Mass production takes 20-35 working days after receipt of deposit and approval of all artwork and specifications. This window includes material procurement, production, in-process testing, finished goods testing and packing. If external laboratory testing is required, add 10-15 working days. We provide a production schedule with milestones. Delays caused by artwork revisions or incomplete documentation are not counted in the production window. We recommend placing orders at least 60 days before the required delivery date to allow for contingencies.

We offer EXW, FOB and DDP Incoterms. EXW is from our factory in Guangdong. FOB is typically Shenzhen or Hong Kong. DDP is available for most major markets, with duties and taxes included in the quoted price. Air freight takes 5-10 days door-to-door; sea freight takes 25-40 days depending on destination and port congestion. Shipping documents provided include commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, COA, MSDS (where applicable), free-sale certificate, and phytosanitary certificate for plant-derived materials if required by the destination country. We do not provide certificates of origin unless requested; these can be arranged through the local chamber of commerce.
