Overview

Mushroom extract gummies combine dual-extracted fruiting body powders with a pectin or gelatin base. Common actives include beta-glucans from reishi, cordyceps, lion's mane, chaga, and turkey tail. Dosing typically ranges from 100 mg to 500 mg per gummy. We formulate for stability, mask earthy notes with natural flavours, and match your target market's labelling rules. Our facility holds GMP, ISO 22000, and HACCP certifications, with halal and vegan options available on request.

Production Capability and Line Capacity

Our Guangdong plant runs four dedicated gummy lines with a combined output of 12 million units per month. Each line handles depositing, cooling, demoulding, and oiling in a continuous flow. For mushroom extract gummies, we use precision depositors that hold fill weight within ±2% across a 2.5 g to 5.0 g range. This matters when your label claims 250 mg of reishi extract per gummy. We run pilot batches of 1,000 units for stability and taste testing before scaling to retail volumes of 1,000 units per SKU.

Changeover between SKUs takes 4–6 hours, including full washdown and allergen swabbing. We schedule mushroom runs in dedicated windows to avoid cross-contact with non-mushroom actives. Lead time from approved sample to mass production is 20–35 working days. That covers raw material QC, batching, depositing, curing, bottle filling, labelling, and final release. Air freight samples ship in 3–5 days; sea freight for full orders depends on destination port.

Formulation with Mushroom Extracts

Mushroom extracts arrive as fine powders, often hygroscopic and earthy in taste. We pre-blend them with carriers such as tapioca syrup solids or acacia fibre to improve flow and dispersion. For pectin gummies, we adjust the calcium source and pH to keep beta-glucans stable through the cook. For gelatin gummies, we use 220–250 bloom gelatin and control the curing room at 20–22°C and 30–35% relative humidity for 48–72 hours. Typical extract load is 100–500 mg per gummy.

Flavour systems matter. Lion's mane and reishi carry strong bitter notes. We use natural masking agents, fruit powders, and acids like citric or malic to round the profile. Vegan options use pectin or modified starch. Organic claims require certified organic extract and organic sweeteners. We can also add vitamin C, zinc, or elderberry for immune-positioned SKUs. Every formulation is tested for active markers, including beta-glucan content by enzymatic assay, before release.

Quality Control and Compliance

Every incoming mushroom extract batch is tested for identity, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbial load. We retain samples for 24 months. In-process checks cover Brix, pH, fill weight, and texture at 30-minute intervals. Finished gummies undergo stability testing at 25°C/60% RH and 40°C/75% RH for 3–6 months. We provide certificates of analysis for each batch. The facility is FDA-registered and holds GMP, ISO 22000, and HACCP certifications. halal certification are available per project.

Label compliance is your responsibility, but we review artwork for mandatory statements: net quantity, ingredient list, allergen declarations, and supplement facts. For the EU, we check novel food status of each mushroom species. For the US, we confirm the extract is generally recognised as safe or has a prior market history. For the Middle East, we verify halal status of every excipient. We do not claim FDA approval. We provide the documentation your importer needs.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Mushroom extract gummies are packed in HDPE bottles (60, 90, or 120 count), blister packs (10 or 12 per card), stick packs (single-serve 5 g), or sachets (3 g or 5 g). Bottles are induction-sealed and fitted with child-resistant caps where required by the destination market. We stock standard white and amber bottles, and can source custom colours or shapes with a 5,000-unit minimum. Blister forming uses PVC/PVDC or aluminium cold-form foil for moisture-sensitive formulations. Stick packs are filled on vertical form-fill-seal lines with a fill accuracy of ±2%.

For the US market, we prepare FDA-compliant dietary supplement labels with the following elements: statement of identity, net quantity of contents, Supplement Facts panel with serving size and active ingredients, other ingredients list, directions for use, and allergen declarations. We also include the required “Distributed by” or “Manufactured for” statement, and a domestic address or phone number for adverse event reporting. Lot and expiry codes are inkjet-printed on the bottle shoulder and the carton, in a format you specify (for example, LOT 12345 EXP 2027-06). We do not print claims that require FDA pre-approval, and we flag any structure/function claims for your legal review.

Cartons are specified as 350 gsm kraft or white board, with dimensions matched to the bottle or blister. We print lot codes and expiry dates on the carton via inkjet, and apply a tamper-evident seal where required. Standard export cartons hold 24 or 48 bottles, with a maximum gross weight of 15 kg. Pallets are 1,200 mm × 1,000 mm or 1,200 mm × 800 mm, stretch-wrapped and strapped, with a maximum height of 1,800 mm including the pallet. We provide a packing list with carton dimensions, net and gross weights, and pallet configuration.

For Amazon FBA and other retail channels, we apply FNSKU labels to each unit and poly-bag units where required. We can print and apply FNSKU labels in-house, and we follow your FBA shipment plan for carton labelling (for example, “Ship to Amazon” and “Made in China” markings). For retail chains, we support GS1 barcodes (EAN-13 or UPC-A) on the label and carton, and we can provide a certificate of insurance for product liability if your retailer requires it. We do not handle retail packaging design, but we review your artwork for regulatory compliance before printing.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the MOQ for mushroom extract gummies?+

Retail bottling starts at 1,000 units per SKU. Pilot runs start at 1,000 units. The lower MOQ lets you test market response before committing to larger volumes. Unit price decreases at 10,000 units and above.

How long does sampling take?+

Sample lead time is 7–10 working days after we receive your brief and confirm the formula direction. That includes lab batching, curing, and shipping by air. You get 2–3 bottles per sample for taste and stability checks.

Can you make vegan mushroom gummies?+

Yes. We use pectin or modified starch instead of gelatin. Vegan gummies hold up well with mushroom extracts, though texture is slightly softer. We can also certify the final product vegan if all excipients meet the standard.

What certifications does your facility hold?+

The plant holds GMP, ISO 22000, and HACCP certifications. We are FDA-registered. halal certification are available per project, depending on the ingredient list and your target market.

Do you provide stability testing?+

Yes. We run accelerated stability at 40°C/75% RH for 3 months and real-time at 25°C/60% RH for 6 months. You receive a stability report with microbial, sensory, and active marker data to support your shelf-life claim.

Can you provide a beta-glucan assay for each batch of mushroom gummies?+

Yes. Every batch is tested for beta-glucan content using the Megazyme enzymatic method, and the result is stated on the Certificate of Analysis. We also provide the raw material supplier's assay for the mushroom extract used in the batch. If you require a specific beta-glucan level, we can adjust the extract loading to meet your target, typically within ±10% of the declared value. Testing is performed in-house and by a third-party laboratory for verification.

What is the shelf life of your mushroom extract gummies, and how is it determined?+

Shelf life is set at 18–24 months for most formulations, based on real-time stability data. We assign shelf life only after accelerated and real-time testing confirm that beta-glucan potency, microbial counts, and sensory attributes remain within specification. For new formulations, we provide a provisional 18-month shelf life pending real-time data. The expiry date is printed on the bottle and carton as YYYY-MM, and we can adjust the format to your market's requirements.

Can you handle custom packaging shapes and sizes for mushroom gummies?+

Yes. We support custom bottle shapes, blister configurations, and stick pack sizes, subject to a minimum order of 5,000 units per SKU for custom tooling. Standard bottles are available from 1,000 units. We can also source custom cartons and labels, and we provide dieline templates for your artwork. Tooling lead time is 15–20 working days, and tooling costs are quoted separately. We do not manufacture packaging in-house; we work with qualified suppliers and inspect incoming packaging against your specification.
