Omega-3 Sachet Manufacturer for Private Label Brands

Omega-3 Sachet Manufacturer for Private Label Brands

EUPHM produces omega-3 sachets in stick packs and pillow packs. Fill weights from 2 g to 20 g. MOQ starts at 1,000 units per SKU. Certifications include GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal.

Overview

Sachets suit omega-3 formats that oxidise quickly in bottles. A sealed stick pack limits headspace, slows rancidity and gives a single-serve dose. EUPHM runs omega-3 filling on vertical form-fill-seal lines at 40 to 60 sachets per minute, with nitrogen flushing available. We handle triglyceride oil, ethyl ester, algal oil and powdered microencapsulated omega-3. This page covers the fill options, certifications and lead times buyers ask about.

Filling lines and sachet formats

EUPHM fills omega-3 on vertical form-fill-seal machines. Stick packs run at 40–60 units per minute; pillow packs at 50–70 units per minute. Fill accuracy is ±1.5% on a 5 g dose. We use nitrogen flushing to reduce dissolved oxygen in the headspace, which slows oxidation of EPA and DHA. Seals are checked for integrity every 30 minutes during a run. Barrier film options include PET/AL/PE and PET/EVOH/PE for brands that want a clear sachet.

Sachet sizes range from 20 mm × 80 mm to 60 mm × 160 mm. A 5 g stick pack fits a standard 200 mg EPA/DHA blend. Larger 10 g and 20 g pillow packs suit multi-gram oil doses or powdered blends. We can print up to 8 colours on the film, including matt and gloss varnish. Tooling changes for a new sachet size take 3–5 days and are quoted separately. Existing stock tooling covers the most common stick and pillow formats.

Omega-3 forms and formulation options

We handle four omega-3 base materials: refined triglyceride oil, ethyl ester, algal oil and microencapsulated powder. Triglyceride oil is the most common for food supplements in the EU and UK. Ethyl ester allows higher concentration, up to 70% EPA/DHA. Algal oil suits vegan and vegetarian claims, and we hold vegan certification for those runs. Powdered omega-3 is used in sachets that mix into water or yoghurt. Each base has a different oxidation profile and requires its own antioxidant system.

Standard antioxidant packages use mixed tocopherols at 0.1–0.3% or rosemary extract at 0.05–0.2%. For flavoured sachets, we blend natural flavours with a masking system to cover fish notes. Common profiles include lemon, orange, mint and mixed berry. Sweeteners can be added for a direct-to-mouth format: stevia, monk fruit or sucralose. We can also add vitamin D3, vitamin E, CoQ10 or curcumin to the same sachet. All formulation work is done in-house at the Guangdong plant.

Quality control and shipping logistics

Every batch of incoming omega-3 oil is tested for peroxide value, anisidine value and heavy metals before release to production. Peroxide value must be below 5 meq/kg at intake. Finished sachets are tested for fill weight, seal strength and microbial limits. We retain samples for 24 months. The facility is GMP-certified, ISO 22000 and HACCP. Halal certificates are available for applicable runs. We do not claim FDA approval; the plant is FDA-registered for food and dietary supplement exports.

Sachets ship in food-grade cartons with desiccant where needed. Shelf life is typically 18–24 months for liquid fills and 24 months for powder fills, depending on the barrier film. We ship FOB Shenzhen or Yantian, with air freight from Hong Kong Baiyun. Carton dimensions and pallet configurations are confirmed at the sample stage. For repeat orders, we hold film and base oil specifications on file so a reorder does not need new artwork approval.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every omega-3 sachet batch is tested at three points: incoming raw material, in-process fill, and finished goods. Identity and potency are confirmed by gas chromatography (EPA and DHA content as % of total fatty acids), with peroxide value and anisidine value measured to track oxidation. Microbial testing covers total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli and Salmonella. Heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic) are screened against EU and US limits. For powder formats, disintegration and moisture content are also checked.

A certificate of analysis (COA) is issued per batch and includes: product name, lot number, manufacture date, expiry date, fill weight, EPA/DHA assay, peroxide value, microbial results, heavy metals, and a statement of conformity. Retention samples of every lot are kept for 24 months at controlled room temperature. Stability testing follows a 24-month protocol at 25°C/60% RH and 40°C/75% RH for accelerated data, with time points at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.

For sachets, seal integrity is checked hourly by dye penetration and burst testing. Fill weight is verified every 15 minutes on a calibrated checkweigher, with a target tolerance of ±2%. Nitrogen flushing is monitored by inline oxygen sensors, and residual headspace oxygen is kept below 2% for oil-based fills. All QC records are retained for five years and are available for buyer review during audits.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Sachets are supplied as single sticks, strip packs of 5 to 10, or in cartons. For retail, we offer stick packs in a folding carton with a display-ready shelf tray, or a blister-style card. Primary packaging options include PET/AL/PE or PET/PE laminates with a tear notch and laser score. Cartons are printed offset or digitally, with lot and expiry codes applied by inkjet or thermal transfer. Pallet specifications: 1,200 x 1,000 mm or 1,200 x 800 mm, stretch-wrapped and corner-boarded, with a maximum height of 1,800 mm.

For US dietary supplement labels, we support the required elements: statement of identity, net quantity, supplement facts panel, ingredient list, allergen declaration, and manufacturer/distributor address. We can add Amazon FNSKU barcodes and retail-compliant carton markings. For EU markets, labels include the nutrition declaration, authorised health claims, and the food business operator address. We do not provide regulatory advice; final label text should be confirmed by your regulatory team.

Lot coding follows a 8-digit format (YYMMDD plus line code) and expiry date is printed as best before end. We can apply QR codes linking to your certificate of analysis or consumer information. For orders destined for Amazon FBA, we offer poly-bagged sachets with a suffocation warning and FNSKU labels applied on the outside of each unit. Carton labels include FBA box ID, quantity and expiry date.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sample lead time is 7 to 10 working days from receipt of your formulation and packaging artwork. Samples are provided free of charge for standard formulations; custom flavours or printed sachets may incur a setup fee. Mass production runs 20 to 35 working days after sample approval and receipt of deposit. For repeat orders with unchanged specifications, production can be reduced to 18 to 25 working days. MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU, with lower volumes available for pilot runs at a higher unit cost.

Shipping options include air freight (5 to 10 days door-to-door) and sea freight (25 to 40 days port-to-port). We quote EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP for most destination countries. DDP pricing includes customs clearance and duties, but we recommend confirming with your freight forwarder. For urgent launches, we can arrange air express (3 to 5 days) at additional cost.

Documents provided with each shipment: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, certificate of analysis, material safety data sheet (MSDS), and a free-sale certificate. For plant-based or algal omega-3, we can include a vegan statement and allergen declaration. Phytosanitary certificates are not applicable to these products. Certificates of origin can be issued on request. All documents are sent electronically before shipment and hard copies travel with the goods.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the MOQ for omega-3 sachets?+

MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail-ready sachets. Pilot runs below 1,000 units are possible with a higher per-unit cost. For a 5 g stick pack, 1,000 units is roughly 15 kg of finished product. We quote MOQ per SKU, not per order.

Can you produce vegan omega-3 sachets?+

Yes. We use algal oil as the base for vegan sachets and hold vegan certification for those runs. The fill weight range is the same: 2 g–20 g liquid. Typical EPA/DHA content from algal oil is 100–300 mg per 5 g sachet. Flavour and antioxidant options are identical to fish oil lines.

What is the shelf life of an omega-3 sachet?+

Shelf life is 18–24 months for liquid fills and 24 months for powder fills, depending on the barrier film and antioxidant system. We test peroxide value at 0, 3, 6 and 12 months during stability trials. Final shelf life is confirmed on the certificate of analysis for each batch.

Do you offer nitrogen flushing?+

Yes. Nitrogen flushing is available on all vertical form-fill-seal lines. It reduces headspace oxygen and slows oxidation of EPA and DHA. For liquid omega-3, flushing typically extends shelf life by 3–6 months compared to a non-flushed sachet. There is a small additional cost per 1,000 units.

How do I get a sample?+

Send your target dose, sachet format, fill weight and flavour direction. We produce 50–100 sample sachets in 7–10 working days. Samples include a certificate of analysis and a label proof. Sample cost is credited against your first mass production order above 10,000 units.

What testing is done on each omega-3 sachet batch?+

Each batch is tested for identity and potency (EPA/DHA by GC), peroxide value, anisidine value, microbials (TPC, yeast/mould, E. coli, Salmonella), heavy metals, and fill weight. Powder formats also undergo disintegration and moisture testing. Seal integrity is checked hourly. Results are documented in a batch-specific COA.

Can you provide retail-ready packaging with Amazon FNSKU labels?+

Yes. We apply FNSKU barcodes to each unit and print FBA box labels with box ID, quantity and expiry date. Sachets can be poly-bagged with a suffocation warning. We also produce display-ready cartons and shelf trays for retail. Label artwork must be provided by you and approved before production.

What are the shipping terms and documents for international orders?+

We quote EXW, FOB Shenzhen/Hong Kong, and DDP. Air freight takes 5–10 days; sea freight 25–40 days. Documents include commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading/airway bill, COA, MSDS, and free-sale certificate. Certificates of origin are available on request. Phytosanitary certificates are not required for omega-3 sachets.
