Overview

Selenium is a narrow-window nutrient. Too little fails label claims; too much fails safety reviews. As a selenium capsule manufacturer, we handle both sides of that line: assay-verified raw material, controlled blending, and capsule fills that hold their declared dose from first unit to last. Retail bottling starts at 1,000 units per SKU, with lower thresholds for pilot runs.

Capsule Manufacturing Capacity

The plant runs automatic capsule filling lines with a combined output of 120,000 capsules per hour across two shifts. That covers mid-size retail launches without splitting your order across suppliers. We fill powder, granule and pellet blends, and can run low-dose selenium alongside a carrier such as microcrystalline cellulose or rice flour to keep the blend uniform.

For liquid-fill selenium, we use sealed capsule technology for oil-based formats. Changeover between SKUs is scheduled within the same week where volumes allow, which shortens the gap between your first SKU and your second. Every batch is weighed in-process at 15-minute intervals, and fill-weight data is retained for your batch record.

Selenium Forms and Formulation Detail

Selenium comes in several chemical forms, and the form drives your label, your stability data and your price. Selenomethionine is the most common organic choice for capsules, typically dosed at 100 mcg to 200 mcg. Selenium yeast is a food-grade option with naturally bound selenium. Sodium selenite and sodium selenate are inorganic and inexpensive, but they need tighter overage control because of their narrower tolerance.

We blend with common excipients: dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate at 0.5–1.5%, and silicon dioxide for flow. If you want a clean-label capsule, we can formulate without magnesium stearate. For combination products, selenium pairs well with vitamin E, zinc, iodine or vitamin C. We test blend uniformity on every batch before encapsulation.

Quality Control and Compliance

Raw material arrives with a certificate of analysis and is quarantined until our own assay confirms identity and potency. We test selenium content by ICP-MS or AAS, depending on the form. Finished capsules are checked for weight variation, disintegration time and microbial limits. Heavy metals, including arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury, are tested per batch.

The facility is GMP-certified and holds ISO 22000 and HACCP. We are FDA-registered for dietary supplement manufacturing. halal and vegan certifications are available where the formula and capsule shell allow. Documentation for your regulatory filing, including COA, MSDS and flow chart, is issued with each shipment.

Selenium Capsule Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every selenium capsule batch is tested at three points: incoming raw material, in-process blend, and finished capsules. Identity and potency are confirmed by HPLC or ICP-MS depending on the selenium form. Microbials (total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella) and heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) are run on each lot. Disintegration testing follows USP <701> or the relevant pharmacopoeial method, with a typical specification of complete disintegration within 30 minutes for gelatin and 45 minutes for HPMC.

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is issued per batch and includes the product name, lot number, manufacturing date, expiry date, tests performed, specifications, results, and the analyst and QA sign-off. We retain samples from every batch for 24 months past expiry under controlled temperature and humidity. Stability protocols follow ICH Q1A(R2) conditions: 25°C/60% RH long-term and 40°C/75% RH accelerated for six months, with potency, microbials and disintegration checked at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.

In-process checks cover blend uniformity (sampled at top, middle and bottom of the mixer), capsule fill weight (every 15 minutes during filling), and seal integrity for HPMC capsules. Any out-of-specification result triggers a documented investigation and batch hold. We do not release a selenium capsule batch without a completed COA and QA release signature. Documentation is provided in English as standard; other languages can be arranged on request.

Selenium Capsule Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

We fill selenium capsules into HDPE bottles (30, 60, 90, 120, 180 or 250 count), blister packs, stick packs or sachets. Bottles can include induction seals, desiccant sachets and child-resistant closures. Labelling follows FDA dietary supplement requirements: statement of identity, net quantity, supplement facts panel, ingredient list, allergen declaration, and the manufacturer/distributor address. We also print lot number and expiry date in inkjet or laser coding on the bottle, carton and shipper.

For Amazon FNSKU and retail compliance, we apply FNSKU labels, poly-bag the bottles where required, and print carton markings to your specification. Carton dimensions and pallet configurations are agreed at artwork approval: typical 60-count bottles pack 48 per shipper, 24 shippers per pallet, with pallet height not exceeding 1.8 m for sea freight. We can provide dielines and artwork templates for your designer, and we check print-ready files for barcode scannability (UPC/EAN) before plates are made.

Stick packs and sachets are available in 2 g to 5 g fill weights, with 3-side seal or 4-side seal formats. Blister packs use PVC/PVDC or alu-alu for moisture-sensitive formulas. All packaging components are food-grade and supplied with migration test certificates where applicable. We do not print claims on your label without written substantiation, and we flag any claim that may require FDA notification or structure/function disclaimer.

Selenium Capsule MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery Terms

Sample lead time for selenium capsules is 7–10 working days after formula and artwork approval, including courier dispatch. Mass production runs 20–35 working days after sample approval and receipt of deposit, depending on capsule size, packaging format and whether labels are supplied by you or printed by us. Pilot runs below 1,000 units are quoted separately and may add 5–7 working days because of manual line setup.

We ship by air or sea. Air freight typically takes 3–7 days door-to-door for 100–300 kg; sea freight takes 25–40 days port-to-port depending on destination. Incoterms offered are EXW (factory Guangdong), FOB (Shenzhen or Hong Kong), and DDP for select markets. We provide commercial invoice, packing list, COA, MSDS, free-sale certificate, and phytosanitary certificate where relevant (for example, if herbal excipients are present). Halal certificates are available on request and add 5–10 working days to the timeline.

For repeat orders, we hold your approved artwork and formula on file for 12 months, so reorders skip the sampling stage and move directly to production. Payment terms are 30% deposit with balance against copy of bill of lading, or as agreed for established accounts. We do not guarantee delivery dates until deposit is received and artwork is signed off.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the MOQ for selenium capsules?+

Standard retail bottling starts at 1,000 units per SKU. Pilot runs are available at lower volumes so you can test the market. Exact MOQ depends on capsule size, fill weight and whether the formula is stock or custom.

Which selenium form should I choose?+

Selenomethionine suits organic-positioning brands and is the most common capsule form. Selenium yeast works for food-based claims. Sodium selenite is the lowest-cost option but needs tighter overage control. We can advise based on your label and target market.

How long do samples take?+

Sample lead time is 7–10 working days after we receive your brief and confirm the formula. Samples are shipped with a preliminary specification sheet. Mass production follows in 20–35 working days after sample approval.

Can you make a clean-label selenium capsule?+

Yes. We can formulate without magnesium stearate or titanium dioxide, and use HPMC capsule shells for a vegan claim. Not every formula works without flow agents, so we test blend uniformity before committing.

Do you provide halal certificates?+

Yes, where the formula and capsule shell meet the requirements. Gelatin shells are not halal or HPMC shells are. Certificates are issued per batch and included with your shipping documents.

What testing is done on each selenium capsule batch?+

Each batch is tested for identity, potency, microbials, heavy metals and disintegration. Identity and potency use HPLC or ICP-MS depending on the selenium form. Microbials cover total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli and Salmonella. Heavy metals cover lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. Disintegration follows USP <701>. A COA with specifications, results and QA sign-off is issued before release.

Can you print my Amazon FNSKU labels and poly-bag bottles?+

Yes. We apply FNSKU labels, poly-bag bottles where required, and print carton markings to your specification. We check barcode scannability (UPC/EAN) at artwork approval. Typical 60-count bottles pack 48 per shipper, 24 shippers per pallet, with pallet height not exceeding 1.8 m for sea freight. Dielines and artwork templates are provided for your designer.

What shipping terms and documents do you provide?+

We offer EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP for select markets. Documents include commercial invoice, packing list, COA, MSDS, free-sale certificate, and phytosanitary certificate where relevant. Air freight takes 3–7 days door-to-door for 100–300 kg; sea freight takes 25–40 days port-to-port. Halal certificates add 5–10 working days.

What is the shelf life of your selenium capsules and how is it determined?+

Shelf life is typically 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored in a cool, dry place in the original sealed container. It is supported by real-time stability data at 25°C/60% RH and accelerated data at 40°C/75% RH for six months. We provide a stability summary in the batch documentation, and we can customise the shelf life claim based on your packaging and storage conditions.

Can you manufacture selenium capsules with a combination of selenium and other ingredients?+

Yes. We can blend selenium with vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts, or amino acids in a single capsule, provided the combination is physically compatible and the fill weight fits the chosen capsule size. We test blend uniformity and assay each active ingredient. We do not formulate with ingredients that are prohibited in the destination market, and we will advise on compatibility and label claims during formula review.

What are your payment terms and do you require a deposit?+

Standard terms are 50% deposit with the purchase order and 50% balance before shipment, paid by bank transfer. For repeat orders, we may offer 30% deposit and 70% against copy of the bill of lading, subject to credit approval. We do not accept credit cards for production orders. All payments are in US dollars unless otherwise agreed in the proforma invoice.
