Operator at a filling line in the Guangzhou plant

Overview

B-complex formulas are rarely off-the-shelf. Dosage ratios, allergen status and label claims vary by market. EUPHM runs dedicated capsule lines for B-vitamin blends, from 1,000-unit pilot batches to 5 million capsules per month. The plant holds GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certification, and sources B vitamins from documented suppliers with assay and heavy-metal testing on every lot. Capsule fill weights range from 300 mg to 800 mg, and we support both hard gelatin and HPMC shells.

Capsule production capacity and formats

EUPHM operates eight capsule filling lines with a combined output of 5 million capsules per month. For B-complex, we run sizes 0, 1 and 2, with fill weights from 300 mg to 800 mg. Standard shells are hard gelatin; HPMC shells are available for vegan and vegetarian labels. We can print or laser-etch capsules for brand recognition, and we fill both opaque and transparent shells. Changeover between B-vitamin SKUs takes 4–6 hours, including line clearance and documentation.

Bottling runs from 30 cc to 250 cc HDPE or PET containers, with induction seals, child-resistant caps and tamper-evident bands. We also produce blister packs and sachets for sample or travel formats. Every batch is weighed, reconciled and recorded in our ERP system. For brands scaling from pilot to retail, we hold the same capsule size and fill weight across runs, so your label and dosage stay consistent.

Formulating B-complex ratios and claims

B-vitamin ratios drive both cost and label positioning. A typical B-50 capsule contains 50 mg each of B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6, plus 50 mcg B12 and 400 mcg folic acid. A B-100 doubles those figures. High-dose B12 (1,000–5,000 mcg) and methylated forms such as methylfolate and methylcobalamin are available. We also produce low-dose B-complex for children or sensitive users, with 5–10 mg per B vitamin. You choose the ratio; we confirm flowability and capsule fill.

We source B vitamins from suppliers with USP, EP or BP grade documentation. Each incoming lot is tested for assay, heavy metals, microbial limits and residual solvents. For organic or labels, we use certified organic carriers and HPMC shells. For halal and we provide certificates for both the active ingredients and the capsule shell. Vegan claims require HPMC shells and no animal-derived excipients. We do not use titanium dioxide in EU-bound formulas.

Quality control and export documentation

Every B-complex batch is tested in-house for appearance, fill weight, disintegration and microbial safety. Third-party labs handle heavy metals, pesticide residues and vitamin potency. We retain samples for 24 months. The facility is FDA-registered and holds GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certification. We provide a certificate of analysis (CoA) per batch, plus a certificate of free sale and a GMP certificate for customs. For EU and UK clients, we supply allergen statements and country-of-origin documents.

Shipping is by air or sea from Shenzhen or Hong Kong. Air freight takes 5–10 days to the US or EU; sea freight takes 18–30 days. We handle export clearance and can ship under DDP or FOB. For Middle East clients, we include halal certificates and Arabic labelling support. Minimum order for retail bottling is 1,000 units per SKU. Pilot runs start at 500 units for formula validation, with 7–10 day sample turnaround.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every lot of vitamin B complex capsules enters a documented QC programme at raw material receipt and again at finished goods. Incoming B vitamins are tested for identity by FTIR or HPLC, potency by HPLC-UV against a certified standard, and heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury) by ICP-MS to a limit of 0.5 ppm per element. Microbial testing covers total aerobic count, yeast and mould, E. coli and Salmonella, with results released only when they fall within the specification agreed in the quality agreement.

During encapsulation, in-process checks run every 30 minutes: fill weight is verified on a sample of 10 capsules against a target of 300 to 800 mg with a tolerance of plus or minus 5 percent, and shell integrity is inspected visually. At batch completion, a composite sample is tested for potency, uniformity of content, disintegration (target under 15 minutes for hard gelatin, under 30 minutes for HPMC) and moisture. Disintegration testing follows the USP <701> method, and results are recorded against the batch record.

The certificate of analysis (COA) issued with each batch lists the product name, batch number, manufacture and expiry dates, and the specification for each test parameter. It reports the measured result, the method used and a pass or fail status. A typical B complex COA covers appearance, average fill weight, potency for each declared vitamin, microbial limits, heavy metals and disintegration. Where a customer requires it, we add a residual solvent screen or an allergen statement; these are quoted as separate tests at the sampling stage.

Retention samples are held for the shelf life of the product plus six months. A stability protocol is agreed before the first production run: typically 25 degrees Celsius and 60 percent relative humidity for 24 months, with an accelerated arm at 40 degrees Celsius and 75 percent relative humidity for six months. Assays are run at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months on the real-time arm. The stability data package is available to support the customer's own label claim and, where relevant, registration dossiers.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Vitamin B complex capsules can be packed in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles from 60 to 500 cc, in blister packs of 10 to 30 capsules per card, or in single-serve sachets where a powder blend is requested. Bottles are fitted with induction seals and child-resistant or standard caps depending on market requirements. Blister material is PVC/PVDC or aluminium-aluminium for moisture-sensitive formulas. Cartons are printed to the customer's artwork and carry lot number, expiry date and, where required, a barcode.

For the US market, the label must include the statement of identity, net quantity of contents, supplement facts panel, list of ingredients, and the name and place of business of the manufacturer, packer or distributor. We can print the supplement facts panel from the customer's approved formula and verify that the declared percentages of daily value match the potency in the batch record. Structure-function claims remain the customer's responsibility, but our regulatory team reviews label copy for obvious non-compliant language before print.

Lot and expiry coding is applied by inkjet or laser on the bottle, carton and, where relevant, the blister foil. The coding format follows the customer's specification, for example lot number, manufacture date and best-before date in DD/MM/YYYY. Cartons are packed in corrugated shippers with a maximum gross weight of 15 kg for manual handling, and pallets are configured to 1,200 by 1,000 mm or 1,200 by 800 mm to suit the destination market. Pallet labels include batch number, quantity and a scannable SSCC.

For Amazon and other marketplace sellers, we apply FNSKU labels and poly-bag the units where required, and we can pack to the marketplace's carton weight and dimension limits. Retail compliance support includes a check that the label carries the required allergen statement, a country of origin statement and, for the EU, the name and address of the food business operator. We do not provide legal sign-off, but we supply the label artwork and batch documentation that a retailer or importer needs for its own compliance file.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sampling starts with a 7 to 10 working day turnaround from receipt of the signed specification and, where a custom formula is involved, the approved formula sheet. The sample is produced on the same capsule line as the commercial batch and is supplied with a draft COA. If the sample requires a new shell colour or a printed bottle, add 5 working days for artwork and print proofing. Sample costs are credited against the first production order when the order exceeds 50,000 capsules.

Mass production runs 20 to 35 working days after sample approval and receipt of the deposit. The lower end applies to standard 300 to 500 mg fill weights in stock shells; the upper end applies to custom ratios, HPMC shells or blister packing. The production window is confirmed in the proforma invoice, and we provide a weekly progress update with the batch record status. A pre-shipment inspection can be arranged at the customer's cost, and the inspection report is issued before the balance payment is due.

Delivery terms are EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, or DDP to the customer's warehouse. Air freight from Hong Kong to a European hub takes 5 to 8 days door to door and suits orders under 500 kg; sea freight to Rotterdam or Los Angeles takes 28 to 35 days port to port and is more economical above 1 tonne. We provide the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, COA, MSDS and, where the destination requires it, a free-sale certificate and a phytosanitary certificate for plant-derived capsule shells.

For repeat orders, we hold the approved formula and artwork on file, so a reorder can move to production within 5 working days of the purchase order. We recommend booking capacity four to six weeks ahead during the pre-holiday peak, when capsule line availability tightens. Payment terms are 30 percent deposit and 70 percent before shipment for new customers, and we can discuss documentary collection or letter of credit for orders above 1 million capsules. All documents are issued in English, with translation available on request.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the MOQ for vitamin B complex capsules?+

MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling. Pilot runs start at 500 units for formula validation. Lower MOQs apply to sample orders and small-batch testing. We confirm exact MOQ based on capsule size, fill weight and packaging.

Can you produce vegan B-complex capsules?+

Yes. We use HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) shells for vegan and vegetarian labels. The formula must also avoid animal-derived excipients such as gelatin or magnesium stearate from animal sources. We provide a vegan statement and can source certified vegan B vitamins.

How long does production take?+

Samples ship in 7–10 working days. Mass production runs 20–35 working days after sample approval and order confirmation. Lead times depend on capsule size, shell type and whether you need custom packaging. We provide a production schedule with your proforma invoice.

Do you provide halal certificates?+

Yes. We supply halal certificates for both the active ingredients and the capsule shell. Certificates are issued per batch. For Middle East and Israel-bound shipments, we include the certificates with the export documents. Certificates are valid for 12 months from issue.

What testing is done on B-complex capsules?+

Each batch is tested for appearance, fill weight, disintegration, microbial limits and vitamin potency. Third-party labs handle heavy metals, pesticide residues and residual solvents. We provide a certificate of analysis (CoA) per batch and retain samples for 24 months. Testing follows USP and EP methods.

Can you supply vitamin B complex capsules with a specific ratio, such as 50 mg of each B vitamin?+

Yes. We produce custom ratios from 1,000 capsules upward. The customer provides the target potency per capsule and the preferred vitamin forms, for example cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin, and our formulation team checks that the combined fill weight falls within the 300 to 800 mg capsule range. If the combined weight exceeds the shell capacity, we propose a split dose or a larger capsule size. A formula sheet and draft COA are issued before sampling.

What is the shelf life of your vitamin B complex capsules and how is it supported?+

The default shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture, supported by real-time stability data at 25 degrees Celsius and 60 percent relative humidity. For markets with higher humidity, we can run a stability study at 30 degrees Celsius and 65 percent relative humidity. The stability protocol is agreed before the first batch, and assay results at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months are recorded. A shorter shelf life may be assigned if a customer's formula includes heat-sensitive forms.

Do you provide a free-sale certificate and can you help with import registration?+

We issue a free-sale certificate for each shipment on request, confirming that the product is manufactured in a GMP-certified facility and is freely sold in China. For import registration, we supply the technical file: formulation, specification, COA, MSDS, stability data and label artwork. We do not act as the importer of record or file the registration on the customer's behalf, but we work with the customer's regulatory consultant to answer queries from the competent authority.
