Manufacturing Capability for Vitamin C Gummies

EUPHM operates pectin and gelatin gummy lines with a combined monthly output above 500,000 units. Vitamin C is dosed as ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate, depending on pH tolerance and target shelf life. We run depositing equipment with mould sizes from 2.0 g to 5.5 g per gummy. Typical retail bottles hold 60, 90 or 120 gummies. Our pilot line accepts runs as low as 1,000 units, which lets brands test a SKU before committing to a 5,000-unit order.

The plant holds GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certifications. Halal certificates are available on request. We produce vitamin C gummies in sugar-free (sorbitol, maltitol or allulose bases) and full-sugar (tapioca syrup, cane sugar) formats. Line changeovers are scheduled in 4-hour blocks, so a single SKU can move from mixing to packaging in one shift. Capacity can scale to 800,000 units monthly with 14 days' notice.

Formulation and Ingredient Details

Vitamin C is sensitive to heat, oxygen and moisture. We use a low-temperature depositing process (below 80°C) and add ascorbic acid at the final mixing stage to reduce degradation. Overages of 10–20% are built into the formula to meet label claims through a 24-month shelf life. Each gummy can carry 80 mg, 250 mg, 500 mg or 1,000 mg of vitamin C. Sodium ascorbate is used for neutral pH and less tartness; ascorbic acid gives a sharper taste.

Flavour systems include orange, strawberry, raspberry, lemon and mixed berry. Natural colours come from annatto, beetroot or turmeric; synthetic options are also available. Sweetener profiles range from cane sugar and tapioca syrup to sugar-free blends with stevia or monk fruit. We can add zinc, elderberry, rose hips or bioflavonoids for combination SKUs. Every formula is tested for potency, dissolution and microbial safety before production.

Quality Control and Compliance

Raw materials arrive with vendor certificates of analysis and are quarantined until our QC lab approves them. In-process checks run every 30 minutes for weight, hardness and vitamin C content. Finished gummies are tested for assay, moisture, water activity, total plate count, yeast and mould, and heavy metals. We retain samples from every batch for 24 months. A certificate of analysis accompanies each shipment, and third-party lab testing (Eurofins, SGS or Intertek) can be arranged at cost.

The facility is FDA-registered for dietary supplements. This is not an FDA approval. Labels can carry GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal or vegan claims where the supply chain supports them. We provide full documentation for US, EU and Middle East import: certificate of free sale, health certificate, and ingredient breakdowns. Packaging options include HDPE bottles, PET jars and blister packs. Bottle filling runs at 60–80 units per minute.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Vitamin C gummies ship in HDPE bottles from 60 cc to 500 cc, with induction seals and child-resistant or standard caps depending on the market. Blister packs, stick packs and single-serve sachets are available for sampling or travel formats. Bottle labelling supports the full FDA dietary supplement panel: supplement facts, serving size, amount per serving, percent daily value, other ingredients, allergen statement, and the mandatory disclaimer. We can print lot number and expiry date by inkjet or laser on the bottle, cap or label, and the same codes are repeated on the carton.

Carton specifications are agreed per SKU: typical master cartons hold 12, 24 or 48 bottles, with dimensions and gross weight stated on the packing list. Pallet configurations are built to the client's warehouse or Amazon requirements, including 48 x 40 inch GMA pallets or 1200 x 800 mm EUR pallets, with stretch wrap and edge protectors. For Amazon FNSKU compliance, we apply the FNSKU label over the barcode or print it directly, and we can poly-bag and label units to the FBA preparation standard if the client supplies the FNSKU data.

Retail-ready artwork is checked against the destination market before printing. For the US, we verify that the supplement facts panel, the disclaimer and the allergen declarations meet 21 CFR 101.36. For the EU, we check the nutrition declaration, the health claim wording against the EU Register and the address of the food business operator. We do not write claims for the client, but we flag wording that is likely to be rejected at import. Label proofs are signed off by the client before the print run, and a retained copy of the approved artwork is kept with the batch record.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

The sample timeline starts when the brief and target specification are confirmed. Formulation and bench samples take 7 to 10 working days, and a second round after client feedback adds 5 to 7 working days. Samples are sent by courier with a preliminary specification sheet and, where available, a COA from a pilot batch. Sample costs are quoted per project and are not automatically credited against the first order, so the quotation states the sample fee separately from the production price.

Mass production runs 20 to 35 working days from receipt of the deposit and signed artwork, depending on whether the order needs new tooling, a new flavour or a new bottle mould. Pilot runs of 1,000 units per SKU and retail bottling runs of 1,000 units per SKU follow the same quality gates but shorter scheduling. Peak season, typically Q3 ahead of the northern-hemisphere winter, adds pressure on gummy line capacity, so orders placed in June or July are scheduled earlier than orders placed in September.

Delivery terms are quoted as EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, or DDP to the client's warehouse. Air freight is used for samples and urgent replenishment, typically 5 to 8 days door to door, while sea freight for full pallets takes 25 to 40 days depending on the destination port. The shipping documents provided include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, COA, MSDS where required, and a free-sale certificate for markets that request one. Phytosanitary certificates are not applicable to gummies, but we will confirm any destination-specific document before booking.

Questions buyers ask.

What is the MOQ for vitamin C gummies?+

MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling. Pilot runs start at 1,000 units. Each SKU can have a different dosage, flavour or bottle size. There are no tooling fees for standard moulds.

How long do samples take?+

Sample lead time is 7–10 working days after we receive your brief and deposit. You receive 10–20 gummies per variant. Sample cost is credited against your first mass production order.

What certifications do you hold?+

GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP. Halal certificates are available. The facility is FDA-registered for dietary supplements. This is not an FDA approval. We can arrange or vegan certification if your supply chain qualifies.

Can you match a competitor's vitamin C gummy?+

Yes. Send a reference sample and we will match dosage, flavour, texture, colour and sweetness. We use HPLC to confirm vitamin C content and a texture analyser for chew profile. Matching takes 7–10 working days.

What is the production lead time?+

Mass production takes 20–35 working days after sample approval and deposit. This includes raw material sourcing, mixing, depositing, curing, bottling and QC. Peak season (August–November) may add 5 working days.

Do you provide stability data for the vitamin C gummies before I place a production order?+

We provide accelerated stability data from pilot batches on request, typically at 40°C/75% RH for up to six months, plus real-time data where an existing formula is already in production. For a new formula, full real-time stability at 25°C/60% RH and 30°C/65% RH runs for 24 months and is shared as it accumulates. The production COA states the shelf life supported by the data held at the time of manufacture.

Can you print my brand's label and apply the FNSKU, or do I need a third-party co-packer?+

We print and apply labels in-house, including the FNSKU over the existing barcode or as a separate label, and we can poly-bag and label to the Amazon FBA preparation standard when the client supplies the FNSKU data and preparation instructions. Carton and pallet labels are produced to the client's specification. A third-party co-packer is not required for standard bottle, blister or sachet formats.

What happens if a batch fails a specification test after production?+

The batch is placed on hold and a documented investigation is opened, covering raw material COAs, in-process records and retained samples. If the failure is confirmed, the batch is not released and is either reworked under a validated procedure or rejected, with the outcome recorded in the batch file. The client is informed before any replacement run is scheduled, and the replacement is produced at our cost where the failure is attributable to our process.
