Elderberry Liquid Manufacturer for Syrups, Shots and Tinctures
EUPHM produces elderberry liquids at 1,000-unit MOQs, with 7-10 day samples and 20-35 day production. GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal certified. Bottle sizes from 30ml to 1L.
Overview
Elderberry liquids are unforgiving. The anthocyanins degrade with heat, the pH swings between 3.2 and 3.8, and sugar syrups can ferment if water activity drifts. As a dietary supplement contract manufacturer in Guangdong, we run elderberry syrups, shots and tinctures on dedicated stainless lines, with pasteurisation, hot-fill or cold-fill, and nitrogen flush where needed. Retail bottling starts at 1,000 units per SKU; pilot runs are lower. Every batch ships with COA and full traceability.

Liquid filling and packaging capability
Our two liquid lines handle bottles from 30ml to 1L, with fill accuracy of ±1.5%. We run glass, PET and HDPE, and can apply induction seals, dropper caps, pump dispensers or tamper-evident bands. For elderberry syrups, we use hot-fill at 85-92°C or cold-fill with preservatives, depending on your label claims. Nitrogen flushing is available for tinctures and low-pH shots.
Secondary packaging includes shrink sleeves, cartons and display boxes. We can print batch codes, expiry dates and QR codes inline. If you need stick packs or sachets, we have a separate line for 10-30ml formats. Typical changeover between SKUs takes 2-4 hours, which keeps small runs practical.
Formulation and elderberry sourcing
Elderberry concentrate is sourced from EU and US suppliers, with a standard 10:1 extract or 65 Brix juice concentrate. We test for anthocyanins, pH, Brix and microbials on every incoming lot. Typical formulas use 500-1,500mg elderberry extract per 15ml serving, with optional zinc, vitamin C, echinacea or honey. Sugar-free versions use erythritol, stevia or monk fruit.
We can match a reference sample or develop from a brief. Flavour masking is important because elderberry is tart and astringent. We use natural flavours, citric acid and sodium citrate to balance pH. Preservative systems include potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate, or a preservative-free hot-fill if your market allows. Stability testing runs for 3, 6 and 12 months at 25°C and 40°C.
Quality, compliance and export logistics
The facility is GMP-certified and FDA-registered. We hold ISO 22000, HACCP, halal and vegan certifications. Each batch is tested for heavy metals, pesticides, microbials and anthocyanin content. COA and MSDS are issued before shipment. We can also provide stability data, nutritional panels and allergen statements for your market.
For export, we handle FOB Shenzhen or Yantian, and can arrange air freight for samples. Typical documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and health certificate. Lead times are 20-35 working days for mass production, plus 7-10 days for samples. We ship to the US, EU, UK and Middle East, and can label in English, German, French or Arabic.
Quality Control and Batch Documentation
Every elderberry liquid batch is sampled at three points: incoming raw material, in-process after compounding, and finished product after filling. Identity testing uses HPLC fingerprinting against a retained elderberry reference standard, with anthocyanin content reported as cyanidin-3-glucoside equivalents. Potency is confirmed by UV-Vis or HPLC depending on the matrix. Microbials (total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella) are tested on every batch, while heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury) are tested per raw material lot and periodically on finished product. Results are released only after all parameters meet specification.
The certificate of analysis (COA) issued with each batch lists batch number, production date, expiry date, fill weight, pH, °Brix or alcohol content where applicable, anthocyanin potency, microbial results, heavy metals, and a statement of conformity. Retention samples of every batch are held for the full shelf life plus six months at 20–25°C. Stability protocols follow ICH Q1A(R2) where applicable, with accelerated conditions at 40°C/75% RH for three months and real-time data at 25°C/60% RH and 30°C/65% RH. These data support the shelf life declared on your label.
For elderberry syrups and shots, water activity is monitored to confirm the product remains below the 0.85 threshold that limits microbial growth. Tinctures are checked for alcohol content by GC or hydrometer, and for clarity and sediment after a 14-day settling period. If your specification requires a specific elderberry extract ratio, such as 5:1 or 10:1, we verify the marker compounds and retain the supplier’s COA and identity test on file. Any out-of-specification result triggers a documented investigation before release, and the batch is placed on hold until disposition is approved.
Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness
Elderberry liquids are filled into amber glass or PET bottles, with dropper assemblies for tinctures and child-resistant caps where required. Syrups typically use 250ml or 500ml bottles with induction seals; shots use 30ml to 60ml bottles or single-serve stick packs. Stick and sachet formats are filled on a separate line with nitrogen flush to protect anthocyanins. We also offer blister packs for liquid capsules where relevant. Bottle diameters and cap sizes are confirmed against your filling line or co-packer requirements before tooling is ordered.
Labels are produced to your artwork and must include all FDA dietary supplement label elements: statement of identity, net quantity of contents, supplement facts panel with serving size and percent daily value where applicable, ingredient list, allergen statement, and the name and place of business of the manufacturer, packer or distributor. Lot code and expiry date are inkjet-printed on the bottle and carton, with formats matching your retail or marketplace requirements. We can apply Amazon FNSKU labels, polybag and suffocation warnings, and retail-ready carton markings. Cartons are specified to your case pack, and pallets are built to GMA or your retailer’s preferred pattern.
Before production, we provide a packaging specification sheet listing bottle, cap, dropper, label and carton dimensions, together with dieline files for your designer. Pre-production samples are sent for your approval, and we retain a signed golden sample. For Amazon sellers, we can pack to FBA requirements, including box weight limits and FNSKU placement. For retail buyers, we support GS1 barcode verification and can provide carton dimension and weight data for your warehouse management system. All packaging components are checked against food-contact regulations in the destination market.
MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery
Sampling for elderberry liquids starts with a formulation brief and target specification. We provide a quotation within two working days, and samples are typically ready in 7–10 working days after receipt of your brief and any reference sample. Sample costs are credited against the first production order. If your formula requires a new flavour or a specific elderberry extract ratio, allow an additional 5–7 working days for development and sensory approval. Courier costs for samples are at your account unless agreed otherwise.
Mass production begins after written sample approval and receipt of a deposit. Standard lead time is 20–35 working days for retail bottling, depending on bottle and cap availability and whether labels are supplied by you or printed by us. Orders above 50,000 units are scheduled across two liquid lines with a capacity of up to 60,000 bottles per day. We provide a production schedule with milestone dates and notify you of any delay beyond two working days. Quality inspection and pre-shipment inspection can be arranged at your request.
Shipping terms are EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, or DDP to your door. Air freight is typically 5–8 days door-to-door for samples and small orders, while sea freight to the US West Coast takes 18–25 days and to Europe 28–35 days. We provide a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, certificate of analysis, MSDS where applicable, and a free-sale certificate for markets that require one. Phytosanitary certificates are not normally required for elderberry liquid supplements, but we can arrange them if your import authority requests one.

Questions buyers ask.
What is the MOQ for elderberry syrup in 250ml bottles?+
1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling. If you need a pilot run, we can go lower — typically 1,000 units — but unit cost is higher. For stick packs, the MOQ is 5,000 units because of the separate line.
How long does sampling take?+
7-10 working days from brief to courier. That includes lab batching, sensory check and basic stability. If you need custom flavour or a new bottle, add 3-5 days for sourcing.
Can you match my current elderberry formula?+
Yes. Send a reference sample or the ingredient list. We reverse-engineer the pH, Brix, anthocyanin level and preservative system. You approve the match before production.
Do you offer organic or halal certified elderberry liquid?+
Yes. We hold halal certification. For organic, the elderberry concentrate must come from a certified supplier. We can source it or use your nominated supplier.
What is the shelf life of your elderberry liquid?+
Typically 18-24 months for hot-fill syrups and 12-18 months for cold-fill with preservatives. We run stability tests at 25°C and 40°C for 3, 6 and 12 months. Final shelf life depends on your packaging and storage conditions.
What documentation do you provide for customs clearance of elderberry liquid supplements?+
For each shipment we provide a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, certificate of analysis, and a free-sale certificate. An MSDS is supplied for tinctures and any product with alcohol content. If your country requires a phytosanitary certificate or a certificate of origin, we can arrange it. Documents are issued in English and can be legalised or apostilled on request at your cost.
Can you fill elderberry liquid into stick packs or sachets instead of bottles?+
Yes. We run stick packs and sachets on a separate line with nitrogen flush, typically in 10ml to 30ml fills. Minimum order is 5,000 units per SKU for stick packs, with a lead time of 25–35 working days after artwork approval. Stick packs suit single-serve shots and travel formats. We can supply the film structure and provide barrier data for oxygen and moisture.
How do you prevent fermentation or spoilage in elderberry syrup during storage and shipping?+
We control water activity below 0.85, adjust pH to 3.2–3.8, and use hot-fill or pasteurisation followed by a sealed cap. Nitrogen flushing is applied where the format allows. Each batch is tested for yeast and mould before release. We recommend storage below 25°C and provide stability data to support your declared shelf life. If your formula includes fresh fruit solids, we will discuss preservative options with you.
