Compression capacity and tablet formats

Our compression department operates 14 rotary tablet presses with tooling for round, oval, oblong and caplet shapes. We run single-layer, bi-layer and tri-layer tablets, with optional film coating, sugar coating or enteric coating. Typical fill weights range from 200 mg to 1,200 mg. For effervescent multivitamins, we use dedicated low-humidity suites with controlled temperature below 25°C and relative humidity under 30%.

Tablet hardness is adjusted to meet your packaging and shipping requirements. We test friability, disintegration time and weight variation on every batch. For high-dose vitamin C or mineral blends, we adjust compression force and granulation parameters to avoid capping or lamination. Tooling changes for custom shapes take 3–5 working days and are included in the quotation for orders above 50,000 units.

Formulation and active ingredient sourcing

Multivitamin formulations often combine 12–24 active ingredients, including vitamins A, C, D3, E, K2, B-complex, plus minerals like zinc, magnesium, selenium and iron. We source USP, BP or Ph.Eur. grade raw materials from approved suppliers in Europe, the US and Asia. Each lot is tested for assay, heavy metals, microbial limits and identity before release to production. We can adjust overages to meet shelf-life targets of 18–24 months.

Our formulation team works with your existing recipe or develops a new one. We offer vegan tablets using plant-based magnesium stearate and cellulose coatings. For halal certification, we verify every excipient against religious requirements. Organic multivitamins require certified organic actives and excipients; we maintain separate handling and cleaning protocols to avoid cross-contamination. Lead time for a new formulation sample is 10–15 working days.

Quality control and export documentation

Every batch of multivitamin tablets is tested in our in-house QC laboratory. We perform assay by HPLC, disintegration testing, weight variation, hardness and microbial limits. Stability studies follow ICH guidelines at 25°C/60% RH and 40°C/75% RH. We retain samples for 24 months after production. Batch records and certificates of analysis are provided for each shipment.

For export to the US, we supply a certificate of free sale and a GMP certificate. For the EU, we provide a health certificate and a statement of compliance with EC regulation 1925/2006 where applicable. Middle East shipments include halal certificates from recognised bodies. We handle labelling reviews for FDA and EU requirements. Shipping terms are FOB Shenzhen or Yantian, with air freight available for urgent orders. Typical documentation turnaround is 5–7 working days.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every multivitamin tablet batch is tested against a written specification before release. Incoming actives are checked for identity by FTIR or HPLC and for potency by validated HPLC or ICP-MS methods, depending on the nutrient. Excipients are tested for identity and microbial limits. During compression, in-process checks cover weight variation every 30 minutes, hardness, thickness and friability. At the end of compression, a composite sample is taken for finished-product testing.

Finished tablets are tested for potency of each declared vitamin and mineral, microbial limits (total aerobic count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella), heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) and disintegration time. Disintegration is typically specified at 15 minutes or less in purified water at 37°C for uncoated tablets, and 30 minutes for coated or sustained-release formats. Where the formula includes sensitive vitamins such as B12 or folate, we run additional stability-indicating assays at release and at each stability interval.

The certificate of analysis (COA) issued for each batch lists the product name, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, specification and test results with pass/fail against each parameter. It also states the test methods used and the release decision. A retention sample of at least twice the quantity needed for full testing is held for the shelf life plus six months. Stability studies follow ICH Q1A(R2) conditions: 25°C/60% RH long term, 30°C/65% RH intermediate and 40°C/75% RH accelerated. We test at 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months, and provide the data package to support your label claim.

For export orders, the batch record, COA and stability summary are compiled into a product quality file. This file is available for your regulatory team or a third-party auditor. If you require testing by an external laboratory, we can arrange it at your cost and share the raw data. We do not release a batch without a signed release by the quality unit, and no certificate is issued before all tests are complete.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Multivitamin tablets can be packed in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles with induction seals and child-resistant or standard caps, in blister packs using PVC/PVDC or alu-alu for moisture-sensitive formulas, or in single-dose sachets and stick packs where a powder or granule format is preferred. Bottle sizes range from 30 to 500 cc, with counts from 30 to 365 tablets. We hold tooling for round, oval and oblong tablets, and can quote for custom shapes subject to a tooling fee and a minimum order of 50,000 tablets.

For the US market, labels must include the statement of identity, net quantity of contents, a supplement facts panel with nutrient names, amounts and % daily value, other ingredients, and the name and place of business of the distributor. We can draft the supplement facts panel from your formula and verify it against the finished batch. Lot number and expiry date are inkjet-coded on the bottle, blister or carton, with a minimum character height of 1.5 mm and a contrast ratio that passes vision inspection. We also apply a best-by date calculated from the stability data, not from a default shelf life.

Cartons are specified to your retail requirements: typical dimensions, board grade and print process are confirmed at artwork approval. Pallet configurations are designed for container loading, with standard 1,200 x 1,000 mm or 1,200 x 800 mm pallets, stretch-wrapped and corner-protected. For Amazon FNSKU and retail compliance, we can print and apply FNSKU labels, poly-bag with suffocation warning, and pack in master cartons with the required carton labels. We do not manage your Amazon seller account, but we prepare the physical units to the specification you provide.

Artwork proofing includes a pre-press check for barcode scannability (EAN-13 or UPC-A), font size for net quantity, and allergen and warning statements where applicable. We keep approved artwork and colour standards on file for repeat orders. If you change a label, a new proof is issued and signed off before the next production run.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sample production for a new multivitamin tablet formula takes 7 to 10 working days after formula and specification approval. This includes raw material sourcing, small-scale compression and basic testing. If custom tooling is required, add 15 to 20 working days for tooling fabrication and trial compression. Samples are shipped by courier at your cost, and we provide a preliminary COA with the sample so you can review the specification before committing to a production order.

Mass production starts after you approve the sample and artwork and pay the deposit. The production window is 20 to 35 working days, depending on tablet count, packaging format and whether the actives are in stock. Bottled orders typically ship within 25 working days; blister and sachet formats may take up to 35 working days because of additional packaging line changeover. We confirm the schedule in the proforma invoice and update you at each milestone: raw material release, compression start, packaging start and final inspection.

We ship under EXW, FOB or DDP terms. FOB is from Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and we handle export clearance. Sea freight to Europe or North America takes 30 to 40 days port to port, while air freight takes 5 to 8 days door to door. For DDP, we quote a delivered duty-paid price to your warehouse and manage the import clearance through our forwarder. We do not act as the importer of record unless agreed in writing.

Documents provided with each shipment include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of analysis for each batch, material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the finished product, and a free-sale certificate where your market requires it. For products containing botanical ingredients, a phytosanitary certificate can be arranged if the destination country requires it. Certificates of origin can be issued on request. All documents are checked against the shipping marks and carton count before release.

Can you match a competitor's multivitamin tablet formula?+

We can develop a formula to match the nutrient profile of a competitor's product, but we do not copy a proprietary formula or label. You provide the target amounts per tablet and the serving size, and our formulation team prepares a trial batch for your approval. We test the trial against your specification and provide a COA. If the competitor's formula includes a trademarked ingredient, you must supply that ingredient or authorise us to source it.

What is your policy on stability testing for export markets?+

We run stability studies under ICH Q1A(R2) conditions: 25°C/60% RH long term, 30°C/65% RH intermediate and 40°C/75% RH accelerated. Testing points are 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months. For markets with different climatic zones, we can add conditions such as 30°C/75% RH. The stability protocol and data are shared with you for your regulatory submission. We do not release a product for export without at least six months of accelerated data.
