Taurine Liquid Manufacturer for Energy Drinks and Shots
EUPHM produces taurine liquid supplements in Guangdong, China. We fill 30-500 ml bottles and 25-60 ml shots at 1,000 unit MOQs, with GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certification.
Overview
Taurine is a water-soluble amino acid used in energy drinks, pre-workout shots, hydration blends and wellness tonics. Liquid formats need tight control of pH, solubility and preservation. EUPHM runs dedicated liquid lines for clear and slightly hazy systems, from pilot batches of 1,000 units to full production runs. This page covers specifications, formulation options, quality checks and lead times for taurine liquid manufacturing.

Liquid filling capability for taurine
The plant runs two liquid filling lines. Line A handles 25-60 ml shots at 12,000-18,000 units per shift. Line B fills 250-500 ml bottles at 6,000-9,000 units per shift. Both lines use inline pH and conductivity checks before capping. Taurine is dosed through a separate mixing tank to avoid cross-contamination with caffeine or electrolyte premixes.
Bottles are available in PET, HDPE and glass. Caps include tamper-evident screw caps, flip-tops and sport caps. We fill under nitrogen for oxidation-sensitive formulas. Typical fill accuracy is ±1.5% by weight. Label application, shrink sleeves and cartoning run inline, so a single order can leave the facility retail-ready.
Formulating taurine into stable liquids
Taurine dissolves readily in water up to about 5% w/w at room temperature. Above that, or when combined with high mineral loads, it can drop out over time. We run a 4-week accelerated stability test at 40°C and 75% RH before locking a formula. Common pH targets are 3.2-4.0 for acidic energy shots and 6.0-7.0 for neutral tonics.
Preservation depends on pH and water activity. For low-pH shots, we use potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate at 0.05-0.1%. For neutral systems, we pasteurise or hot-fill at 85-92°C. Taste masking matters: taurine has a slightly bitter note. We blend with citric acid, sucralose, stevia or monk fruit, and test at 8-12% sugar equivalent. Caffeine, B vitamins, electrolytes and amino acid blends can be added in the same batch.
Quality control and export documentation
Every batch of taurine raw material arrives with a certificate of analysis. We verify identity by HPLC and check heavy metals, arsenic, lead and mercury against USP and EU limits. Finished goods are tested for pH, Brix, fill weight, microbial limits and taurine assay. Retained samples are kept for 24 months. Batch records are available for audit.
For export, we issue a certificate of analysis, certificate of origin, GMP certificate and, where required, halal certificates. We have shipped to the US, EU, UK and Middle East. Labels can carry FDA-registered facility statements where applicable. Customs documentation is prepared in-house, and we work with freight forwarders for FOB Shenzhen or Yantian.
Quality Control and Batch Documentation
Every taurine liquid batch is tested at three points: incoming raw material, in-process fill, and finished goods. Identity and potency of taurine are confirmed by HPLC against a reference standard, with a typical acceptance range of 95.0 to 105.0 percent of label claim. Microbial testing covers total aerobic count, yeast and mould, E. coli and Salmonella, with results released before filling. Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) are screened per batch to EU and US pharmacopoeial limits. Disintegration is not applicable to liquids; instead we run clarity, pH and density checks.
In-process checks occur at start, middle and end of each filling run. Fill volume is verified by weight at a target of ±2 percent, pH is held within the validated window for the formula, and seal integrity is checked by vacuum or pressure decay on a sampling basis. Any out-of-specification result triggers a hold and root-cause review before the batch proceeds. Records are retained for five years, which meets typical EU and US importer expectations.
The certificate of analysis (COA) issued with each batch lists batch number, manufacture and expiry dates, taurine assay, pH, appearance, microbial results, heavy metals and fill volume. It is signed by the QC manager and references the specification version. Customers can request raw-material COAs and allergen statements as supporting documents. A retention sample of at least 200 ml per batch is stored under labelled conditions for the full shelf life plus six months.
Stability follows a real-time protocol at 25°C/60% RH and 30°C/65% RH, with accelerated conditions at 40°C/75% RH for three months. Taurine is chemically stable in aqueous systems, but the finished product is monitored for pH drift, colour change, preservative efficacy and package compatibility. Typical shelf life is 18 to 24 months, confirmed by the stability data generated for the specific formula and container.
Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness
Liquid taurine products are filled into PET or glass bottles, aluminium cans, stick packs or sachets. Shots typically use 25 to 60 ml PET or glass with tamper-evident caps; larger bottles use 250 to 500 ml PET. Stick packs and sachets are available in 10 to 30 ml formats for single-serve use. We can supply stock containers or work with customer-supplied packaging, subject to line trials to confirm fill accuracy and seal performance.
Labels are reviewed against the US FDA dietary-supplement labelling requirements, including the statement of identity, net quantity, supplement facts panel, ingredient list, allergen declaration and the mandatory disclaimer for structure/function claims. For EU markets, we check nutrition and health claims against the EU Register. Lot and expiry coding is applied by inkjet or laser on the base, cap or seal, with a format agreed at artwork approval. Cartons and shippers are specified to withstand export handling.
For Amazon and retail compliance, we can apply FNSKU labels, poly-bag units where required, and carton labels with box dimensions and weight. Cartons are typically 5-ply corrugated, with pallet configurations matched to the customer's warehouse or fulfilment centre requirements. We provide artwork proofs and dieline files for approval before printing. Retail-ready packaging, such as shelf-ready trays, can be quoted separately once the pack format is fixed.
Compatibility between the liquid and the container is confirmed by a packaging stability check. This covers closure torque, leak testing, and where relevant, migration testing for plastic materials. Labels are tested for adhesion under chilled and ambient storage. If the product is sold in the EU, we can support the documentation needed for the responsible person and notify the relevant authorities where required.
MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery
Sample development starts with a formula brief and target dose. We provide a lab sample and packaging options within 7 to 10 working days. Once the sample is approved, a deposit confirms the order and production slot. The standard MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU, with 1,000 units accepted for pilot runs. Mass production takes 20 to 35 working days after sample approval and deposit, depending on packaging availability and filling line scheduling.
Delivery can be arranged by air or sea. Air freight suits pilot runs and urgent launches, typically 5 to 10 days door to door depending on destination. Sea freight is more economical for full containers, with transit times from Guangdong of around 25 to 35 days to European ports and 18 to 28 days to US west coast ports. We quote EXW, FOB and DDP terms; DDP includes customs clearance and final delivery, which simplifies the process for first-time importers.
Each shipment is accompanied by a COA, safety data sheet (MSDS), and a free-sale certificate where required by the destination country. For plant-based or botanical ingredients, a phytosanitary certificate can be arranged if the importing country requests it. Other documents, such as a certificate of origin or halal certificates, are provided when the relevant line is used. We confirm the document pack against the destination's import requirements before booking freight.
Production scheduling is confirmed once artwork and packaging are approved. Delays in artwork approval or packaging delivery will shift the production window. We recommend booking the freight forwarder at the same time as the production slot to avoid storage charges at origin. For repeat orders, we keep the approved formula and packaging specification on file, which shortens the lead time for subsequent batches.
