Algae Oil Liquid Manufacturer for Vegan DHA and EPA Brands
EUPHM fills algae oil liquids in Guangdong. We run 1,000 unit MOQs, send samples in 7-10 working days, and produce 20-35 working days after approval. Certifications: GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal.

Overview
Algae oil liquids are a vegan source of DHA and EPA. Brands use them in dropper bottles, pump bottles and single-serve sachets. The format suits prenatal, cognitive and heart-health claims. EUPHM handles the whole path: sourcing algal oil, blending, pasteurisation or cold-fill, and shelf-life testing. We work with 30 ml to 250 ml fills and can dose 100 mg to 500 mg DHA per serving. This page covers what to expect when you source from a liquid manufacturer.

Liquid filling capacity and line setup
EUPHM runs two liquid lines. Line A handles 30-60 ml dropper and pump bottles at up to 12,000 units per shift. Line B handles 100-250 ml bottles at up to 6,000 units per shift. Both lines use peristaltic dosing with ±1.5% accuracy. That matters for algae oil because DHA content is the label claim. If a 1 ml serving must deliver 100 mg DHA, the fill weight and the oil concentration both need to hold. We verify fill weight every 30 minutes.
For pilot runs, we use a semi-automatic line with the same dosing heads. Minimum pilot run is 1,000 units. You can test two or three bottle sizes in one run. Changeover between SKUs takes 4-6 hours including cleaning. If you need a single-serve sachet or stick pack, we can quote that through a partner line. Lead times for sachets run 5-8 days longer than bottles.
Formulating algae oil liquids
Algae oil is a triglyceride oil, so it blends with other carrier oils. Common bases are MCT oil, sunflower oil and olive oil. MCT is the usual choice for tinctures because it is clear and low-viscosity. You can add natural flavours: orange, lemon, mint or vanilla. Typical use rate is 0.2-0.5% for a light taste. For a 100 ml bottle at 0.3%, that is 0.3 ml of flavour. Antioxidants such as mixed tocopherols at 0.05-0.1% slow oxidation. We also offer rosemary extract for a clean-label option.
DHA and EPA levels depend on the algal oil grade. Standard grades run 35-40% DHA and 10-15% EPA. High-DHA grades reach 50% or more. A 100 ml bottle at 40% DHA contains 40 g of DHA. If the serving is 1 ml, that is 400 mg DHA per serving. You can dilute with MCT to reach 100 mg or 200 mg per serving. We test every batch for peroxide value and anisidine value. Target PV is below 5 meq/kg at fill.
Quality, compliance and shipping
Algae oil is prone to oxidation. We cold-fill at 18-22°C and flush the headspace with nitrogen. Bottles are amber glass or PET with UV blockers. We run accelerated shelf-life testing at 40°C/75% RH for 3 months, then confirm real-time data at 25°C. Typical shelf life is 24 months unopened and 60 days after opening when refrigerated. Every batch gets a certificate of analysis covering DHA, EPA, peroxide value, heavy metals and microbials. We retain samples for 24 months.
For compliance, our facility is GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certified. We hold halal certificates for the algae oil and the MCT carrier. If you sell in the EU, we can provide a statement on novel food status for the algal strain. For the US, we supply a facility registration confirmation. We are not claiming FDA approval. Shipping terms are FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong. Sea freight to Rotterdam takes 28-32 days; to Los Angeles, 18-22 days. Air freight samples take 5-7 days.
Quality Control and Batch Documentation
Every algae oil liquid batch is tested at three points: incoming algal oil, in-process blend, and finished filled units. Incoming oil is checked for identity (fatty acid profile by GC), DHA and EPA potency, peroxide value, anisidine value, and total oxidation. Microbials (TPC, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella) and heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic) are tested on the raw oil and again on the finished liquid. We retain samples from each batch for 24 months at 25°C/60% RH and 12 months at 40°C/75% RH for stability monitoring.
The certificate of analysis (COA) for each batch lists the tests performed, specifications, results, and pass/fail status. It includes the batch number, production date, expiry date, and the signature of the QC manager. For algae oil liquids, the COA also reports the measured DHA and EPA content in mg per ml, the peroxide value, and the microbial results. We provide a COA for the raw oil and a separate COA for the finished product, so you can trace each input.
Stability protocol follows ICH Q1A(R2) guidelines. We run accelerated stability at 40°C/75% RH for six months and real-time stability at 25°C/60% RH for up to 24 months. Tests at each interval cover appearance, odour, peroxide value, DHA/EPA potency, and microbial count. The results support the shelf life we declare on the label. If you need a specific claim such as '24-month shelf life', we can design a stability study to substantiate it before you commit to a production run.
Retention samples are stored for two years after the expiry date. They are kept in the original packaging at the recommended storage condition. If a customer complaint arises, we can retrieve the retention sample and re-test it to confirm whether the issue is batch-related. This documentation package is available for your quality team to review before you place a purchase order.
Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness
Algae oil liquids are filled into dropper bottles (30 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml), pump bottles (100 ml, 125 ml, 250 ml), or single-serve sachets (5 ml to 15 ml). Bottles are amber glass or PET, with dropper assemblies that include a glass pipette and a rubber bulb. Sachets are typically foil laminate with a tear notch. We can also supply stick packs for 10 ml to 20 ml fills. Caps and droppers are available in child-resistant or standard versions, depending on your market requirements.
For the US market, the label must include a supplement facts panel with the serving size, amount per serving of DHA and EPA, and the percent daily value where applicable. Other mandatory elements are the product name, net quantity, ingredient list, allergen statement, and the name and place of business of the manufacturer or distributor. We can print lot codes and expiry dates using inkjet or laser coding on the bottle, cap, or carton. Cartons are typically 24 or 48 units per shipper, with pallet configurations of 1,200 to 2,400 units per pallet depending on bottle size.
For Amazon FNSKU labelling, we can apply the FNSKU barcode label to each unit and print the carton markings required for FBA. We also handle retail-ready packaging such as shelf-ready trays and display cartons. If you sell in the EU, we can add the responsible person address and the EC batch code. All artwork is checked against your market's labelling regulations before printing, and we provide a pre-production proof for your approval.
MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery
The sample timeline starts with a brief: you confirm the DHA/EPA level, fill size, and packaging. We then prepare a lab-scale batch and ship samples within 7-10 working days. Sample costs are typically USD 50-150 per SKU, which covers materials and courier. The sample fee is refundable against your first production order. For custom formulations, add 5-7 working days for development and stability screening.
Mass production begins after you approve the sample and artwork and place a purchase order. The production window is 20-35 working days for standard fills. This includes raw material testing, blending, filling, labelling, and final QC. If you need custom packaging such as a new dropper design, add 10-15 working days for tooling and approval. We provide a production schedule with milestone dates so you can plan your launch.
Shipping options are air freight (5-10 days door-to-door) and sea freight (25-40 days port-to-port). For small orders under 500 kg, air freight is often more cost-effective. We work with EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP terms. DDP includes customs clearance and delivery to your door, which is useful if you do not have an import licence. Documents provided with each shipment include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, COA, MSDS, free-sale certificate, and phytosanitary certificate where applicable. We can also arrange third-party inspection if you require it.

Questions buyers ask.
What is the MOQ for algae oil liquid in dropper bottles?+
MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail bottling. For a pilot run, we can go down to 1,000 units. Pilot runs carry a separate set-up fee because we stop the line for a short batch. If you need two flavours, each flavour is a separate SKU and a separate MOQ.
How long do samples take and what do they cost?+
Samples ship in 7-10 working days. A 100 ml lab sample costs USD 80-150 depending on formula and bottle. That fee is credited against your first mass production order. You get a COA with the sample. We include two revision rounds at no extra cost.
Can you match a DHA level of 200 mg per 1 ml serving?+
Yes. We start with an algal oil grade at 40% DHA and dilute with MCT oil to reach your target. For 200 mg DHA per 1 ml, the oil blend is 50% algal oil and 50% MCT. We verify the final DHA content by GC-FID before filling.
What certifications cover the algae oil and the facility?+
The facility holds GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP. The algae oil and MCT carrier are halal certified. We can provide vegan statements and handling certificates if your algal oil supplier is certified. Certificates are issued per batch and included with the COA.
What is the shelf life and how do you prevent oxidation?+
Shelf life is 24 months unopened at 25°C. We cold-fill at 18-22°C, flush headspace with nitrogen, and add mixed tocopherols at 0.05-0.1%. Target peroxide value is below 5 meq/kg at fill. Accelerated testing at 40°C/75% RH runs for 3 months to confirm the 24-month claim.
Can you provide a certificate of analysis for each batch of algae oil liquid?+
Yes. Every batch comes with a COA that reports identity, DHA and EPA potency, peroxide value, microbials, and heavy metals. The COA includes the batch number, production date, expiry date, and QC signature. We also provide a separate COA for the raw algal oil, so you can trace each input. If you need additional tests such as anisidine value or full fatty acid profile, we can add them to the COA for a small fee.
What label requirements apply for algae oil liquid sold in the EU?+
For the EU, the label must include a nutrition declaration per 100 ml and per serving, the DHA and EPA amounts, and the percentage of the nutrient reference value. You also need the name and address of the food business operator established in the EU, the batch code, and the best-before date. Allergen information must be highlighted. We can review your artwork against EU Regulation 1169/2011 before printing.
What are the shipping terms and documents for an algae oil liquid order?+
We offer EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP. For each shipment we provide a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, COA, MSDS, and free-sale certificate. For plant-based ingredients we can also supply a phytosanitary certificate if your country requires it. Air freight takes 5-10 days door-to-door, while sea freight takes 25-40 days port-to-port. We can arrange third-party inspection before shipment if needed.
