Glucosamine Powder Manufacturer for Supplement Brands
EUPHM produces glucosamine powders and blends for supplement brands. MOQ from 1,000 units per SKU. GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certified. Samples in 7-10 working days.
Overview
Glucosamine is a staple joint-health ingredient, but powder formats bring specific challenges: hygroscopicity, taste masking, and consistent dosing. As a GMP-certified contract manufacturer in Guangdong, China, EUPHM handles glucosamine hydrochloride, sulfate, and N-acetyl forms in bulk powder, stick packs, and retail tubs. We support pilot runs from 1,000 units and full production from 1,000 units per SKU. Every batch ships with a certificate of analysis and full traceability.

Powder Production Capability
EUPHM operates four powder filling lines for glucosamine. We handle bulk powder in 1 kg to 25 kg foil bags, single-serve stick packs from 2 g to 10 g, and retail tubs from 100 g to 500 g. Line speeds reach 120 units per minute for stick packs and 60 units per minute for tubs. Changeover between glucosamine hydrochloride and sulfate takes under 2 hours, with full clean-down and swab verification.
For blends, we use ribbon and V-blenders with a 500 kg batch capacity. Glucosamine is often combined with chondroitin, MSM, turmeric, or vitamin C. We validate homogeneity at three points per batch. Moisture-sensitive formulas run in a humidity-controlled room at 35% RH or lower. Every batch is sampled for assay, mesh size, bulk density, and microbial limits before release.
Glucosamine Forms and Formulation
We source glucosamine hydrochloride (HCl) and glucosamine sulfate (stabilised with potassium or sodium chloride) from audited suppliers. Typical assay is 98% or higher on a dried basis. Particle size is controlled between 40 and 80 mesh depending on your dissolution target. N-acetyl glucosamine is available for niche formulas. All incoming material is tested for heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbial contamination.
Powder formats need taste and flow management. Glucosamine has a bitter, saline note. We use natural masking systems with stevia, monk fruit, or sucralose, plus citric acid or malic acid for brightness. Anti-caking agents such as silicon dioxide or tricalcium phosphate keep the powder free-flowing at 0.5% to 2% inclusion. We can produce unflavoured, citrus, berry, or custom flavour profiles. Flavour samples are matched against your reference.
Quality, Compliance and Logistics
Our facility is GMP-certified and holds ISO 22000 and HACCP. We are FDA-registered for dietary supplements. Halal, and vegan certifications are available depending on your ingredient list. Each batch comes with a certificate of analysis covering assay, identity, moisture, heavy metals, and microbiological limits. We retain samples for 24 months. Stability testing follows ICH guidelines for 6-month accelerated and 24-month real-time studies.
For export, we ship from Shenzhen and Hong Kong ports. Typical transit times: 18-25 days to US West Coast, 25-35 days to EU and UK, 12-20 days to Middle East. We handle documentation for customs, including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and health certificate. Air freight is available for pilot runs. Cartons are export-grade with desiccant where needed.
Quality Control and Batch Documentation
Every glucosamine powder batch is tested against a written specification before release. Identity is confirmed by FTIR against a reference spectrum, and potency (assay) is determined by HPLC or titration depending on the form. Microbial testing covers total aerobic count, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus. Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) are tested by ICP-MS. For sulfate forms, we also test chloride and sulfate content. Testing occurs on incoming raw material, on the blended bulk powder, and on the finished filled units.
The certificate of analysis (COA) issued with each batch lists the product name, lot number, manufacturing date, expiry date, specification limits and measured results for every test. It also states the test methods used and the release decision. A retention sample of at least 200 g per batch is kept for the full shelf life plus six months. Batch records, weighing sheets and cleaning logs are archived for five years and can be provided for audit.
Stability follows an ongoing programme: accelerated conditions at 40°C/75% RH for six months and real-time conditions at 25°C/60% RH for up to 36 months. Parameters tracked include appearance, moisture, assay, microbial count and, for stick packs, seal integrity. Results are summarised in a stability report available under NDA. If a customer requires a specific shelf life claim, we can run a dedicated stability study on their formulation before commercial production.
Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness
Glucosamine powder can be filled into HDPE bottles (typically 100 g to 500 g), stick packs (2 g to 10 g), sachets (5 g to 30 g) and blister packs for unit-dose formats. Bottles can include induction seals, desiccant sachets and child-resistant closures where required. Stick packs are supplied in single-serving or multi-serving cartons. We hold tooling for standard bottle sizes; custom moulds are available with a lead time of 25 to 35 days and a one-off tooling cost.
For the US market, labels must carry the FDA dietary supplement statement of identity, net quantity, ingredient list, supplement facts panel, directions for use, and the address of the distributor or manufacturer. We can print labels in-house or apply customer-supplied labels. Lot numbers and expiry dates are inkjet-coded on the primary package and the carton. Cartons are specified to ISTA 1A or 3A depending on the customer's requirement, and pallets are configured to the customer's preferred height (typically 1.2 m to 1.8 m) with stretch wrap and edge protectors.
For Amazon FBA, we can apply FNSKU labels and poly-bag units with the appropriate suffocation warning. Retail-ready packaging such as shelf-ready trays or display cartons can be produced on request. All packaging components are checked against the customer's artwork proof before a production run, and a pre-production sample is retained for sign-off.
MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery
Sampling takes 7 to 10 working days from receipt of a signed sample request and specification. Samples are supplied free of charge for standard formulations; courier costs are at the customer's account. Mass production runs 20 to 35 working days after sample approval and receipt of the purchase order and deposit. The exact window depends on packaging format (stick packs take longer than bottles) and whether labels are customer-supplied or printed by us.
We ship under EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP for selected destinations. Air freight is typically 5 to 8 days door-to-door for urgent orders up to 500 kg; sea freight is 25 to 40 days depending on the port. For LCL shipments we consolidate at a Hong Kong or Shenzhen warehouse. We provide a packing list, commercial invoice and bill of lading or airway bill for every shipment.
Documents supplied with each order include the COA for the finished batch, a material safety data sheet (MSDS) in the customer's required language, and a free-sale certificate issued by the local authorities where applicable. For orders containing botanical or organic components, a phytosanitary certificate can be arranged. Certificates of origin (Form A, Form E or general CO) are available on request. All documents are issued in English; translation into other languages can be arranged at cost.
