Joint Health Powder Manufacturer for Glucosamine, Collagen and MSM Blends
EUPHM produces joint health powders in stick packs, sachets and tubs. We handle glucosamine, chondroitin, collagen, MSM and turmeric. MOQ starts at 1,000 units per SKU, with pilot runs below that. Samples ship in 7–10 working days.
Overview
Joint health is one of the most formulation-sensitive categories in supplements. Actives like glucosamine sulphate and chondroitin are hygroscopic; collagen peptides and MSM vary in flow and taste. A powder that clumps in the sachet or tastes bitter at 5 g will not repeat-purchase. This page covers how we formulate, blend and fill joint powders at commercial scale — from ingredient sourcing and flavour masking to stick-pack filling, moisture control and finished-goods testing. It also sets out realistic MOQs, lead times and certification scope so procurement teams can plan accurately.

Powder formats and filling capability
Joint powders are usually sold as stick packs, single-serve sachets or multi-serve tubs. We run vertical form-fill-seal lines for stick packs from 3 g to 12 g and sachets up to 30 g. Tub filling runs from 150 g to 1 kg with induction sealing and optional scoop inclusion. Two lines give a combined output of up to 120,000 stick packs per day. Changeover between SKUs takes 4–6 hours including full washdown, which matters if you plan several flavours or actives on one purchase order.
For pilot runs we can produce from 1,000 units before you commit to a 1,000-unit MOQ. That lets you test stick-pack integrity, drop resistance and real-world moisture ingress before scale-up. We can also run nitrogen flushing for oxidation-sensitive actives and desiccant sachets in tub formats. If your channel is pharmacy, gym or e-commerce, we adjust carton and stick-pack dimensions to your shelf or mailer requirements.
Formulating glucosamine, collagen and MSM
The common actives in joint powders are glucosamine sulphate or HCl, chondroitin sulphate, hydrolysed collagen peptides, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), turmeric extract and vitamin C. Each behaves differently in a blend. Glucosamine sulphate is hygroscopic and can cake without the right carrier and humidity control. Collagen peptides at 5–10 g per serve need flavour masking. MSM is bitter above roughly 1.5 g per serve. We build the formula around your label claim, not the other way round.
Flavour systems are usually natural or nature-identical, with stevia, monk fruit or sucralose for sweetness. We can match a target profile — citrus, berry, tropical, unflavoured — and adjust for pH and aftertaste. Typical serving sizes run 5–12 g. We test flowability, bulk density and angle of repose before filling, then check dissolution and mouthfeel in a panel of 5–8 tasters. If you need vegan claims, we source certified inputs and keep them segregated.
Quality Control and Compliance
Every batch is tested for identity, potency, heavy metals, microbial limits and moisture. We hold GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP. For halal or vegan claims, we source from certified suppliers and maintain chain-of-custody records. Our facility is FDA-registered, which allows US-bound shipments; it is not an FDA approval. Certificates of analysis are issued per batch, and we retain samples for 24 months. Retain samples are available for third-party verification on request.
Documentation for export includes COA, MSDS, specification sheet, nutrition panel and, where needed, allergen and GMO statements. We pack to your artwork or supply neutral bulk. Shipping is ex-works Guangdong, with FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong available. Air freight samples take 3–5 days to the US or EU; sea freight for mass production runs 18–30 days depending on destination. We can coordinate with your freight forwarder or quote door-to-door.
Batch Testing, COAs and Retention Samples
Every joint health powder batch is tested against a written specification that covers identity, potency, microbial limits, heavy metals and physical properties. Glucosamine and chondroitin are confirmed by HPLC or titrimetric assay, collagen by hydroxyproline content, and MSM by HPLC. Microbial testing includes total aerobic count, yeast and mould, E. coli and Salmonella. Heavy metals are screened by ICP-MS for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. Moisture content and bulk density are checked on every blend because both affect stick-pack fill accuracy and shelf stability.
In-process checks run at blending and filling. After each 200 kg blend, a composite sample is taken for uniformity and assay. During stick-pack filling, weight is checked every 15 minutes against a target fill weight with an allowed tolerance of plus or minus 3 percent. Metal detection is inline before cartoning. Retained samples from each batch are stored at ambient and accelerated conditions for 24 months, and a stability protocol covers 0, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months for moisture, potency and microbials. Accelerated data at 40 degrees Celsius and 75 percent relative humidity supports a 24-month shelf life claim where the formulation allows.
The certificate of analysis issued with each batch lists the product name, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, tests performed, specifications, results and a pass or fail statement. It is signed by the QC manager and references the analytical methods used. Where a customer needs third-party verification, samples can be sent to an external laboratory and the report attached to the COA. Documentation is provided in English as standard, with Chinese or other language versions on request.
Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness
Joint powders are typically filled into stick packs, sachets, bottles or tubs. Stick packs are the most common for single-serve glucosamine, collagen and MSM blends, with fill weights from 3 g to 30 g. Sachets are available in three-side-seal or four-side-seal formats. Bottles from 150 g to 1 kg use food-grade HDPE with induction seals, and tubs use PP with tamper-evident lids. We can also supply blister packs for tablet-and-powder combination kits, though powder-only blisters are less common.
For the US market, labels must include the statement of identity, net quantity of contents, supplement facts panel, ingredient list, allergen declaration, and the name and place of business of the manufacturer or distributor. Lot and expiry coding are applied by inkjet or laser on the stick, sachet or bottle, and cartons carry the same information. We can print FDA-compliant labels from customer artwork or provide a label review service. Amazon FNSKU labels and retail-ready carton markings can be applied on request.
Carton and pallet specifications are agreed at order stage. Standard export cartons are 5-ply corrugated with a gross weight limit of 20 kg. Pallets are 1,200 by 1,000 mm or 1,200 by 800 mm, stretch-wrapped and strapped, with a maximum height of 1,800 mm including the pallet. We provide carton dimensions, gross and net weights, and pallet configurations before production so that freight and warehouse teams can plan. Retail compliance for the EU, UK, Australia and Canada is supported with label review against local requirements, but final legal responsibility rests with the brand owner.
MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery
Sampling starts with a brief and a target formulation. We provide a quotation within 2 working days and a sample within 7 to 10 working days ex-works. Sample costs are credited against the first mass-production order. Mass production takes 20 to 35 working days after approved sample and purchase order, depending on packaging format and whether new artwork or tooling is required. Pilot runs from 1,000 units are available for market testing, with the same QC and documentation as full production.
Delivery can be arranged by air, sea or courier. Air freight is typically 5 to 10 days door to door for 100 kg to 500 kg shipments. Sea freight is 25 to 40 days depending on destination port and takes 20 to 28 days for a 20-foot container from Shenzhen or Hong Kong. We work with EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP terms. For DDP shipments, we handle customs clearance and duties in the destination country, but the importer of record must still be a licensed entity where local law requires it.
Documents provided with each shipment include the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis, material safety data sheet where applicable, free-sale certificate, and certificate of origin. Phytosanitary certificates are not normally required for synthetic or fermentation-derived joint ingredients, but can be arranged if a destination country requests one for plant-derived excipients. Halal certificates are available for the facility and for specific product lines on request.

Questions buyers ask.
What is the MOQ for joint health powders?+
MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU for retail stick packs, sachets or tubs. Pilot runs start from 1,000 units so you can test the market before a full order. Higher fill weights and multi-serve tubs may shift the MOQ slightly; we confirm on the brief.
Can you produce glucosamine and chondroitin in one stick pack?+
Yes. We regularly blend glucosamine sulphate or HCl with chondroitin sulphate, vitamin C and manganese in a single stick pack. Typical serve is 5–8 g. We test flowability and dissolution because both actives are hygroscopic and can clump without the right carrier.
How long do samples and mass production take?+
Sample lead time is 7–10 working days for a new formula or flavour. Mass production runs 20–35 working days after you approve the sample and pay the deposit. Timelines assume packaging artwork is final and raw materials are in stock.
Do you offer organic, halal or vegan joint powders?+
Yes. We hold or can source halal and vegan certifications depending on the formula. vegan inputs are segregated to avoid cross-contact. Certificates and chain-of-custody records are issued with the batch documentation.
What documentation comes with each batch?+
Each batch ships with a certificate of analysis covering identity, potency, moisture, heavy metals and microbials, plus specification sheet, MSDS, nutrition panel and allergen statement. Retain samples are held for 24 months and are available for third-party testing if your market requires it.
What is the shelf life of your joint health powders and how is it validated?+
Shelf life is set at 24 months for most stick-pack and bottle formats, based on accelerated stability data at 40 degrees Celsius and 75 percent relative humidity, plus real-time data where available. Moisture-sensitive formulations such as glucosamine sulphate may be set at 18 months. The COA states the assigned shelf life, and retained samples are kept for the full period plus six months for any post-market investigation.
Can you supply joint powders with a specific particle size or flow property?+
Yes. We can adjust particle size by milling or granulation to meet a target flow rate, typically 20 to 40 grams per second on a standard flow tester. Granulation also reduces dust and improves stick-pack fill accuracy. For collagen peptides, we can specify mesh size, bulk density and degree of hydrolysis. These parameters are agreed in the specification before sampling so that the sample matches production.
How do you handle allergen and cross-contamination controls for joint powders?+
The facility operates a documented allergen control programme with dedicated scoops, bins and line-cleaning verification between products. Joint powders typically contain no major allergens, but collagen is animal-derived and must be declared where required. We do not run gluten, soy or dairy on the same lines without a full wet clean and allergen swab verification. The allergen statement on the label is agreed at artwork stage.
