Effervescent Powder Manufacturer for Custom Formulas
EUPHM produces effervescent powders in tubes, stick packs and bulk drums. We handle formulation, blending, filling and packing under one roof in Guangdong, China.
Overview
Sourcing an effervescent powder manufacturer means matching fast dissolution with stable actives. EUPHM runs dedicated low-humidity lines at 18-22% RH to prevent premature fizzing. We produce 5g to 6g stick packs, 10g to 20g tube servings and 100g to 500g bulk powder. MOQ is 1,000 units per SKU. Sample lead time is 7-10 working days. Mass production runs 20-35 working days after approval.

Low-Humidity Blending and Filling
Effervescent powders react with moisture. At 60% relative humidity, a citric acid and sodium bicarbonate blend starts fizzing within minutes. EUPHM operates blending suites at 18-22% RH and 21-24°C. Raw materials arrive in sealed foil liners and move directly into the blender. We use ribbon and V-blenders sized for 50kg to 500kg batches, with a 15-minute pre-blend for actives below 1% inclusion. This protects potency and prevents clumping before filling.
Filling runs on two lines. The stick pack line fills 5g to 20g at 400 packs per minute. The tube line fills 10g to 20g servings at 120 tubes per minute. Both use volumetric augers calibrated every 30 minutes. We check fill weight every 15 minutes and reject any pack outside ±3% of target. Seals are tested for burst strength at 0.5 bar. That is how a 1,000-unit order ships without caking or leaking.
Formulation for Taste, Dissolution and Stability
A standard effervescent base uses citric acid and sodium bicarbonate at a 1:1.2 ratio. That gives a clean, slightly salty finish and dissolves in 60-90 seconds in 200ml of water. For a fruit-forward profile, we swap 20-30% of the citric acid for malic or tartaric acid. For a softer mouthfeel, we add 2-5% sorbitol or erythritol. Actives like vitamin C, zinc, magnesium and electrolytes are coated or granulated first to delay contact with the acid. This keeps the powder dry and the flavour stable.
Flavour systems are oil-based or spray-dried. Oil-based flavours give a sharper top note but can shorten shelf life to 18 months. Spray-dried flavours hold 24 months in a sealed tube. We test each formula at 40°C and 75% RH for 3 months to predict 24-month stability. Common actives include 1000mg vitamin C, 200mg magnesium, 500mg glucosamine and 300mg electrolyte blend. We can also work with your existing formula under NDA.
Quality Control, Certifications and Shipping
Every batch has a certificate of analysis covering appearance, pH, fill weight, dissolution time and microbial limits. We test total plate count, yeast and mould, E. coli and Salmonella. Heavy metals are tested to EU and US limits. The facility is GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP certified. halal and vegan certifications are available per SKU. We are an FDA-registered facility for US-bound shipments. Documentation includes COA, MSDS, allergen statement and certificate of origin.
Shipping runs from Shenzhen and Hong Kong ports. FCL and LCL options are available. Tubes ship in 50-unit cartons. Stick packs ship in 100-unit cartons. We palletise to 1.2m x 1.0m and shrink-wrap for sea freight. Air freight is available for pilot runs of 1,000 to 2,000 units. Lead time for mass production is 20-35 working days after artwork approval. We handle export documents and can ship DDP to US, EU, UK and Middle East addresses.
Quality Control and Batch Documentation
Every effervescent powder batch is sampled at three stages: incoming raw materials, in-process blend, and finished stick packs or tubes. Raw materials are tested for identity by FTIR and assay by HPLC or titration. The in-process blend is checked for uniformity, moisture content (target below 0.5%), and pH of a 1% solution. Finished products are tested for potency, microbial limits (TPC, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella), heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury), and disintegration time (typically under 60 seconds in water at 20°C).
A certificate of analysis (COA) accompanies each batch and includes the product name, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, tests performed, specifications, results, and the analyst's signature. Retention samples of every batch are kept for the shelf life plus six months in controlled conditions (25°C/60% RH and 30°C/65% RH). Stability studies follow ICH Q1A(R2) guidelines, with testing at 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, and 36 months for long-term and accelerated conditions. Real-time data supports the labelled expiry date.
Microbial testing uses USP <61> and <62> methods. Heavy metals are analysed by ICP-MS. Disintegration testing follows a modified USP <701> method adapted for effervescent powders. Water content is measured by Karl Fischer titration. All analytical methods are validated, and equipment is calibrated on a scheduled basis. Batch records are retained for five years and are available for audit.
We provide a full batch documentation package on request, including the COA, batch manufacturing record, and stability summary. Deviations and out-of-specification results are investigated under a CAPA system. This documentation supports your regulatory filings and retail compliance checks.
Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness
Effervescent powder is typically filled into stick packs (5g to 6g), tubes (10g to 20g), or bulk drums (100g to 500g). Stick packs are available in foil or film laminates with moisture barrier properties. Tubes are made of PP or HDPE with desiccant caps. We also offer sachets and blister packs for effervescent tablets, but this page focuses on powders. Primary packaging materials are food-grade and meet EU and FDA requirements.
Labels for the US market include the statement of identity, net quantity, ingredient list, allergen declaration, and the FDA dietary supplement facts panel. We can print lot numbers and expiry dates using inkjet or laser coding. Cartons are specified with dimensions, gross weight, and pallet configuration (e.g., 48 cartons per pallet, stretch-wrapped and strapped). We support Amazon FNSKU labelling and retail-ready packaging on request.
For EU markets, labels include the nutrition declaration, allergen information, and the name and address of the food business operator. We can also add batch-specific QR codes for traceability. All artwork is checked against your market's regulations before printing. We do not provide regulatory advice but will follow your approved artwork.
Packaging lines operate in the same low-humidity environment as filling to prevent moisture ingress. Seal integrity is tested by dye penetration and burst testing. We provide packaging specifications and samples for your approval before mass production.
