Overview

Unflavored powders suit brands that want a neutral base for capsules, stick packs, or bulk tubs. Removing flavour systems cuts ingredient cost and simplifies label declarations. EUPHM runs dedicated powder lines for unflavored collagen, protein, creatine, greens, and custom blends. We handle blending, milling, and filling under one roof, with full traceability from raw material lot to finished unit. This page covers specifications, formulation options, and production timelines for unflavored powder projects.

Powder Production Capability

EUPHM operates four powder blending lines with capacities from 50 kg to 2,000 kg per batch. We use ribbon blenders and V-blenders for uniform mixing, followed by milling to a consistent particle size. Filling runs on auger and volumetric systems for stick packs, jars, and pouches. Bulk unflavored powder ships in 25 kg fibre drums or 500 kg supersacks. Each batch is weighed, blended, and sampled for homogeneity before filling. Changeover procedures include full equipment dismantling and swab testing to prevent cross-contamination between flavoured and unflavored runs.

For unflavored projects, we avoid shared flavour tanks and dedicated lines where possible. If a dedicated line is not available, we run a full clean-down protocol with allergen and flavour residue testing. Production capacity sits at 1.2 million units per month across all powder formats. Lead times for unflavored SKUs typically run 20–35 working days, depending on packaging format and raw material availability. We hold buffer stock of common unflavored bases such as collagen peptides, whey isolate, and creatine monohydrate to shorten lead times.

Formulation and Ingredient Options

Unflavored does not mean plain. We can adjust mouthfeel, solubility, and flowability without adding flavour or sweetener. Common bases include bovine collagen, marine collagen, whey protein isolate, pea protein, rice protein, creatine monohydrate, inulin, and acacia fibre. You can combine up to 12 active ingredients in a single blend, subject to compatibility testing. We use anti-caking agents such as silicon dioxide or tricalcium phosphate at 0.5–2% to prevent clumping in humid conditions. For stick packs, we often add a small amount of lecithin to improve dispersion.

Ingredient sourcing covers EU, US, and Asia. We provide certificates of analysis for every lot, including heavy metals, microbials, and assay. Organic and non-GMO options are available with full documentation. If your formula needs a specific particle size distribution, we can mill to 80–200 mesh. For capsule filling, unflavored powders must flow within a specific range; we test bulk density and angle of repose before production. Typical bulk densities range from 0.3 to 0.8 g/mL. We also offer instantised versions of some proteins for faster mixing.

Quality Control and Compliance

Every unflavored powder batch is tested for identity, potency, microbials, heavy metals, and residual solvents. We follow GMP, ISO 22000, and HACCP protocols. Our facility is FDA-registered for dietary supplements. Certifications include halal and vegan where applicable. We retain samples from each batch for 24 months. Stability testing follows ICH guidelines, with real-time and accelerated studies available. For unflavored products, sensory testing focuses on absence of off-notes, since there are no flavours to mask defects.

Documentation for each shipment includes certificate of analysis, certificate of origin, and allergen statement. We support label reviews for US, EU, UK, and Middle East markets. For halal projects, we maintain separate production slots and dedicated equipment. Organic projects require certified organic raw materials and a full audit trail. Our quality team can provide technical data sheets, safety data sheets, and specification sheets before you place a purchase order. Third-party lab testing is available on request, with results in 5–7 working days.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Unflavored powder packaging options include stick packs from 5 g to 30 g, sachets from 3 g to 50 g, HDPE jars from 250 g to 1 kg, stand-up pouches from 100 g to 5 kg, and bulk foil-lined bags up to 25 kg. Stick and sachet lines run at 40 to 60 cycles per minute depending on fill weight and film structure. Jars and pouches are filled on auger or net-weight systems with accuracy within plus or minus 1 percent for fills above 100 g. We can supply desiccant sachets, oxygen absorbers or nitrogen flushing where the powder is moisture-sensitive.

For US-bound dietary supplements, labels must include the statement of identity, net quantity of contents, supplement facts panel, ingredient list in descending order of predominance, allergen declarations, and the manufacturer or distributor name and address. We also print lot number and expiry date in a clear, legible format, typically inkjet or laser coding on the base or back panel. For EU markets, the label follows Regulation 1169/2011 with nutrition declaration, allergens highlighted and a best-before date. We can prepare print-ready artwork from client-supplied text or work with the client's designer.

Carton and pallet specifications are agreed before production. Standard export cartons are double-wall corrugated with a burst strength of at least 1,200 kPa, sized to the primary pack to avoid movement in transit. Pallets are 1,200 by 1,000 mm or 1,200 by 800 mm depending on destination, stretch-wrapped and strapped, with a maximum height of 1,800 mm including the pallet. We can print carton markings to client specification, including lot, quantity, gross and net weight, and country of origin.

For Amazon FBA and retail compliance, we can apply FNSKU labels, poly-bag products where required, and prepare carton labels with box contents and expiration dates in the format the retailer specifies. We do not manage the seller's Amazon account, but we supply the product data and label files needed for listing compliance. Retail-ready packaging, such as shelf-ready trays or display cartons, can be quoted as a separate packaging project. All packaging materials that contact the powder are food-grade and supplied with migration or food-contact declarations where required.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

Sampling starts with a formulation brief and target specification. We provide a quotation within 2 working days and, once accepted, produce samples in 7 to 10 working days. Sample quantities are typically 200 g to 1 kg per SKU, enough for sensory review, lab testing and capsule-filling trials. Clients receive the sample with a preliminary COA and a packaging recommendation. If the sample requires revision, one round of adjustment is included at no extra cost, with a further 5 to 7 working days for the revised sample.

Mass production begins after written sample approval and receipt of the deposit. Standard production is 20 to 35 working days depending on fill format, packaging complexity and whether custom printed film or labels are required. Custom-printed packaging adds 10 to 15 working days to the schedule because of artwork approval and print lead time. We provide a production schedule at order confirmation and weekly status updates. For repeat orders with unchanged specifications, production can often be shortened to 15 to 25 working days.

Shipping is arranged by air or sea depending on volume and urgency. Air freight from Guangdong to Europe or North America typically takes 5 to 8 days door to door, while sea freight takes 25 to 40 days depending on port and routing. We quote EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Hong Kong, and DDP where the destination country allows. For DDP shipments, we handle export clearance, freight and import clearance, with duties and taxes billed to the client. We can also ship on the client's freight account if preferred.

Each shipment is accompanied by a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis for each lot, material safety data sheet where applicable, and a free-sale certificate for markets that require one. For plant-based powders, a phytosanitary certificate can be arranged if the destination country asks for it. Certificates of origin can be issued for preferential tariff treatment where the trade agreement applies. Documents are sent electronically before dispatch so the client can review them and clear customs without delay.

We run accelerated stability at 40 degrees Celsius and 75 percent relative humidity for 6 months, plus real-time data at 25 degrees Celsius and 60 percent relative humidity for up to 24 months. The summary report includes test parameters, methods, results and conclusions, and is formatted so you can attach it to a regulatory dossier. If your market requires a specific protocol, such as ICH Q1A conditions or a different packaging format, we can quote a custom stability study.

What is the process for labelling compliance in the US and EU, and who is responsible for the final label?+

We prepare print-ready artwork from the text and claims you supply, and we check that the mandatory elements are present: supplement facts or nutrition declaration, net quantity, allergen statements, lot and expiry coding, and manufacturer or distributor details. Final legal responsibility for claims and label content rests with the brand owner or their regulatory consultant. We can recommend a third-party label review service if you do not have one, and we do not release packaging for print until you approve the proof in writing.
