Liquid Tonic Production Capability

Our Guangdong plant runs two dedicated liquid lines. One handles aqueous and hydro-alcoholic tonics; the other manages oil-based and emulsion systems. Mixing vessels range from 500 L to 3,000 L. Inline homogenisation and filtration are available for clarity and stability. Filling supports glass and PET bottles, with induction sealing and child-resistant caps. We produce up to 60,000 bottles per day. For pilot runs, MOQ can drop to 1,000 units with adjusted tooling and manual filling.

Changeover between SKUs takes 4–6 hours, including full cleaning validation. That keeps small batch runs practical. We handle both hot-fill and cold-fill processes. For heat-sensitive actives, cold-fill with preservative systems is standard. For herbal infusions, hot-fill at 85–92°C provides microbial control without added preservatives. Every batch is traceable from raw material lot to finished bottle.

Formulation and Ingredient Support

Liquid tonic formulation starts with solubility and stability. We test each active in the target base: water, glycerin, ethanol or oil. Common actives include vitamin C, B-complex, zinc, magnesium, elderberry, echinacea and adaptogenic herbs. Flavour systems mask bitterness and mineral aftertaste. We use natural flavours, stevia or monk fruit for sweetness. pH is adjusted to 3.0–4.5 for microbial stability in aqueous systems. Preservative options include potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and natural alternatives like rosemary extract.

For organic claims, we source or EU organic certified ingredients. Halal certificates are available for gelatin-free and alcohol-free formulas. We provide full documentation: certificate of analysis, MSDS, allergen statements and nutritional panels. Shelf-life testing runs at 25°C and 40°C for 3, 6 and 12 months. Accelerated data supports 18–24 month expiry dates. We can also develop sugar-free, vegan and non-GMO versions.

Quality Control and Global Logistics

Every incoming raw material is quarantined until identity testing passes. We use HPLC, GC and ICP-MS for potency and heavy metals. Microbiological testing covers total plate count, yeast, mould, E. coli and Salmonella. Finished bottles undergo fill weight checks every 30 minutes. Leak testing is 100% inline. Retained samples are kept for 24 months. Batch records are available for audit. The facility is FDA-registered and follows 21 CFR Part 111.

We ship from Shenzhen and Hong Kong ports. Air freight for samples takes 3–5 days to the US or EU. Sea freight for full containers takes 18–28 days to US West Coast, 22–30 days to EU ports, and 12–18 days to Middle East hubs. We handle export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, health certificate and halal certificates. MOQ for retail-ready bottling is 1,000 units. Lower MOQs apply for pilot runs with standard bottle moulds.

Quality Control and Batch Documentation

Every liquid tonic batch is tested against a written specification before release. Incoming raw materials are sampled at 100% of containers for identity by FTIR or HPLC, and potency is confirmed against a certificate of analysis from the supplier. During production, in-process checks cover pH, specific gravity, refractive index and homogeneity at the start, middle and end of each filling run. Finished bottles are tested for microbial limits (TPC, yeast and mould, E. coli, Salmonella), heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury) and, where relevant, preservative efficacy. Disintegration testing does not apply to liquids; instead we verify dissolution and absence of sediment over the declared shelf life.

A certificate of analysis (COA) accompanies every shipment. It lists the product name, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, specification limits and actual test results for each parameter, with the analytical method referenced. COAs are issued per batch, not per order, so a single order split across two batches receives two COAs. Retention samples of every batch are kept for the full shelf life plus six months in a controlled stability chamber at 25°C/60% RH and 30°C/65% RH. Accelerated stability at 40°C/75% RH runs for six months to support the initial expiry claim.

Stability protocols follow ICH Q1A(R2) principles adapted for dietary supplements. We test at 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months for appearance, pH, potency, microbial count and preservative level. For tonics with live cultures or sensitive botanicals, we add specific assays such as enzyme activity or marker compound content. If a batch fails any specification, it is quarantined and an investigation is opened; the customer is notified within 48 hours with the deviation report and proposed disposition. We do not release any tonic without a signed batch record review by a qualified person.

Packaging, Labelling and Retail Readiness

Liquid tonics are filled into glass or PET bottles, dropper bottles, stick packs or sachets. Standard bottle sizes are 30 mL, 50 mL, 100 mL, 250 mL and 500 mL, with closures including tamper-evident screw caps, dropper assemblies and measured-dose pumps. Stick packs are available from 10 mL to 30 mL, and sachets from 5 g to 30 g. We can apply shrink bands, induction seals and child-resistant closures where required. Cartons are printed to your artwork with a minimum 300 dpi resolution; we provide dieline templates and a pre-press proof before printing.

For the US market, labels must include the statement of identity, net quantity, ingredient list in descending order, supplement facts panel with serving size and percent daily value, and the manufacturer or distributor name and address. Allergen declarations follow FALCPA. We also support Amazon FNSKU labelling, poly-bagging with suffocation warning, and retail-ready carton markings such as GTIN and carton dimensions. Lot and expiry coding is applied by inkjet or laser on the bottle, cap or carton as specified. We retain a labelled retention sample of each batch for traceability.

Cartons are specified to your retail or distributor requirements. Standard corrugated cartons hold 12, 24 or 48 bottles with dividers; pallet configurations are designed to maximise container fill without exceeding weight limits. We provide carton dimensions, gross weight and pallet pattern for your freight forwarder. For e-commerce, we can pack orders in Amazon-ready cartons with FNSKU labels and a packing list. All packaging materials are food-grade and comply with EU 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 174-190 where applicable.

MOQ, Lead Times and Delivery

The minimum order quantity for liquid tonics is 1,000 units per SKU, depending on bottle size and formulation complexity. Pilot runs of 1,000 units are possible for new product development, subject to a pilot-run surcharge. Samples are produced within 7 to 10 working days after formula and packaging approval. Sample costs are credited against the first mass production order. Mass production takes 20 to 35 working days after sample approval, excluding Chinese public holidays and any time required for customer-supplied components.

We ship worldwide from Guangdong, China. Air freight is typically used for urgent orders up to 500 kg, with transit times of 3 to 7 days to major airports.
